I am just finishing installing an Edlebroock rpm intake. I new I needed the taller throttle bracket so I had ordered one from Hughes engines. It is made by ar engineering. I just read it is for a 3 piece kickdown? Must be for older models. Can anyone advise. I can weld if needed. I have all the original factory brackets.

Does someone sell a throttle bracket for the Edlebroock rpm intake for a 71 383 727 automatic. Mine is not the 3 piece kickdown. I think I bought the wrong one. I will return it. I was thinking of adding about 2 inches to my factory one. I think it will line up and the kickdown will work. Has anyone tried that?

Finding the right kickdown linkage can be tough
Chrysler used so many different ones
a lot of people have used a kickdown cable and replaced the metal rods that are difficult to get adjusted right Lokar makes a nice one. you will need the cable and the mounting brackets

AR engineering is @andyf (Andy Finkbeiner) here.
He might have some good advice for you.
Any pictures of what you started with?
Yes it turns into a geometry problem.
You may be able to extend the vertical section coming up from the trans, weld in the height difference.

Yes the one I ordered from AR is not for the one piece kickdown. I will send it back. I was going to weld in a small piece of rod to try and fix the geometry. I will also cut the original throttle bracket and weld in a piece of steel to raise that also. I can send pictures when done. Thanks for the replies.

Here's some pictures of my revised tall throttle bracket for the intake (RPM). I didn't like my after market options. Next will be the kickdown rod.

You will also need a different length throttle cable now to reach and adjust correctly

I was hoping the throttle cable will reach. I haven't tried it yet.

Will most likely depend on the linkage hook up provision on your car and what cable you had to begin with. Hope it all works out for you
