Hi everyone, first time poster from NB Canada looking to purchase new front and rear bumpers for my 72 charger se as the old ones have seen better days and there isn't a pile of re plating options around. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as retailers or maybe even Canadian retailers... trying to avoid paying outrageous shipping/duties on my purchases as they certainly are larger items. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

I believe Alberta chrome plating is still around. They do really good work.

If you find you need to go south for this look at your boarder towns most will have a shipping depot
to receive your goods then you cross and pick up your self
declare and pay GST
I mostly use (Package Express ) Sumas WA but have picked up stuff in Port Huron MI Orville WA
so look or ask around for one close to you
Good luck

As R/T Boy stated, National Moparts in Ontario will have what you are looking for. Make sure you compare their prices with what it will cost you if you buy it from the US direct. They add on the exchange, shipping from the US, all costs and add it to their prices. Be aware though that repops of bumpers are NEVER as good as your originals. I bought new bumpers for my 71 Cuda and picked them up at a postal depot near the border . I wish I would have paid the extra couple hundred and got them rechromed.

Really? Are you old enough to remember originals ... 'cause I am! And I can tell you that the hundreds of thousands of originals were NOT flawless stampings perfectly polished with a show chrome finish. My AMDs are just as good as any original ever was.

Have you checked Summit or Jegs? I see that Summit has a special for shipping to Canada. That would make it easier.
I'm in Canada too and have a US shipping address just over the border. I bought new AMD bumpers through Jegs, got a Jegs 10% discount and free shipping right to the border. Buying new was lots cheaper than rechroming in my case.

I should have put 'IMO' at the end of that sentence. All the repops I've seen aren't as heavy as originals and the chrome looks like it was done in China. The pair I bought from AMD confirmed that. They shine up nice but reflect a bit strange. If you or others had better luck then great.

Cambridge Plating, I think is the name, in Cambridge . Any of the people at National Moparts should know of a plater.

I called them for some info pricing and wow they are pricey! At least IMO. To do my Cordoba bumpers they want $2800. Thats without the bumperettes (long gone anyway). To polish stainless trim, $25/ft.
