i'm looking into possibly installing 3rd gen hemi into my 74 charger but have heard that it is very expensive and a lot of mods in order to make it work. im assuming that it has been done but have not found info on the extent and or mods/cost...any help would be greatly appreciated

I don’t know anyone with a Charger install. But @Darius successfully did make the transfer into a 70 GTX. Close enough?

I plan to swap a 2008 6.1L into a '69 Coronet and have been looking at the different options.
I don't know exactly about the '73-'74 with the different K-member / suspension setup, but on mine, I need to decide if I want to use the original K-Member and then swap oil pan, Use the motor swap mounts, and I think an oil filter adaptor?
Or use an aftermarket K-Member. I am leaning towards the more expensive aftermarket K-Member option, because you get the Rack and pinion steering with coil over suspension. That should make header clearance better.
Then transmission selection. I bought the 6.1L with the NAG1 Transmission, so I want to use that transmission, but it needs a transmission controller, and the stock type shifter for a 2008 SRT. I am also using the throttle by wire, so need the electronic accelerator pedal assembly.
The take out I have came with the wiring and ECU. I heard that the stock electronics can be re-programmed / modified to work, or maybe just use an aftermarket controller like the Holley Dominator ECU. I'm not sure the Dominators ECU transmission control will work with the NAG, it's configured for the GM electronic transmissions. If the Holley will control my transmission (need to call holley and check as they mention "more transmissions to come") that would be my preference because a stand alone transmission controller costs about the same as the Holley Dominator ECU.
Anyhow, none of that is an issue if using a manual transmission or 727 (with manual valve body, or convert the drive-by-wire throttle body to a mechanical operated throttle body and hook up a transmission kick down cable?)

I am installing a 5.7 in a 73 Road Runner. There has been quite a bit of talk in this forum.

We have spool-type engine mounts (TTI sells them).

You need a center sump oil pan, most go with the Moroso 31000.

What transmission are you planning? You can use a 727 but you have to figure out the kick down, there are several ways of doing it. If you want to use pretty much any other Mopar automatic, you will need to do quite a bit of tunnel work and possibly torsion bar cross member mods.

I am using an A833 OD behind mine, which requires a 10.5 130 tooth flywheel and small block bell housing.

In retrospect, I would have just rebuilt my 440 or put in a nice 340, but, I have collected too many parts at this point.

I looked into it a while back, nothing drastic is needed. You'll pay a little more here and there but it's still an economical swap if you get a good deal on the motor.

I made the mistake of buying a running and driving vehicle as the donor. I have learned the cheapest was is a mish-mash of parts. In retrospect, I would have bought a low mileage engine and sourced the rest at pick and pull yards.

I scored the 2008 6.1L complete with trans, and engine wiring from a 2008 Magnum SRT with I think less than 50,000 Miles. Cost me $4,000.

I have almost that much into converting a 440 to sequential port EFI, or doing a overdrive transmission swap. Or about twice the cost of converting a 440 to serpentine belt drive system with accessories (alternator, Compressor, P/S pump, water pump.)

The cast manifolds will not fit the later Bs. I think your only option is shorty headers.
