My buddy currently has the car in the 2nd photo. Looks like he's going to get it running . Still has the original paint.

I met Dave Boertman at his trailer building shop (Spring Lake, MI) 20 years ago (?). I was there for business (building a quote for construction) and spent a little time talking drag racing. He was forced out by the GM racers (threats of physical harm). We didn't get the job. He really did a great job for the Rod Shop and Mopar!

We have a burgundy ex Pro-stock Hemi Duster and the SS/IA Rod Shop Challenger owned and raced over here, I think it runs around .3 under.....we finally have a meeting this year for legal S/SS cars@SPR:thumbsup:

Can you elaborate? I don't know the history, but I'm guessing he was so successful that the "GM guys" were taking a financial beating because of Boertman winning consistantly?

What I have heard is what Dave told me. I think it's the same as in other Motorsports when the small guys win, the big boys whine until the sanctioning bodies change the rules in favor of the big boys. Do you remember when Darrel Alderman's shop was raided and someone stole all his engine parts and effectively shut down his program?

Apparently that's a good deal.

Cheapest on ebay is $80 and $20 shipping.

Just saw Butch Leals old M/P Duster. Looks like it's going back to the track with a 90s vintage Dodge NASCAR motor and 727.

All time favorite was the 71 Wagon stocker !

My favorite was Ray Noltmeyers Colt wagon altered. Destroked 340 with Gurney-Weslake heads. 8000rpm leave, shift at 8500.

freaken' cool photos guys thanks for sharing

^^^^ I was there with the Sox&Martin SS/B Cuda and a 64 Savoy Hemi car. Great show.

The Sox car was in the tent. We were driving the 64 around the show and streets. Good times.
