Hey folks,
Here is my mystery VIN: wh232a119478
Two things are vexing me.
1) it looks like the engine code is missing, as the 5th digit should be a letter.
2) Dodge sold way less than 119,000 chargers in 1972.
I think this is a ‘72, Lynch rd build(2A)
Any clues?
Thanks,
JB

Fender tag?

Door sticker?

An annoying but cool oddity in my opinion. I've got a 74 charger se with too many digits on the door sticker vin but I've never seen one with an actual messed up dash tag. Id bet it's either a 318 car g code, or 400 m code or p code

missing a digit, never saw that before

Your last 6 digits are just the number of cars through Lynch Rd. that year so far......not just Chargers. The VIN sequence is not separate for each model but rolls on for each car produced. The other issue being no engine code, I've seen it before typo.

Interesting, what does your title/registration say?

Thanks. That makes much more sense.

Btw, the car is badged as a 440 Magnum. Awaiting fender and door tag info. Will post when I get it.

If I remember, the asterisk on both side denote a "re-plate". The person that did it probably forgot the letter.

IDK why I thought this was a 1969 car

Deleting my post.....
