Anyone know what this came out of? Got to be 69 or previous due to the shifter handle. I am thrown by the bracket.

What is the number on the reverse lever?

And look how high the shifter mounts to the trans.

I was thinking truck also due to the adapter bracket.

Yeah truck makes sense, I will look to see if there are any numbers on any of the parts.

My first thought as that It looked a lot like the 4x4 shifter in the 1986 Ram I had...

Could be an offset used for bench seat cars. Do you have a close up of the bracket? I just saw a thread on it. I will see if I can find it.

This will identify the shifter.

If the number is 6353, it was used on '68-'69 B Body, '68-up A body, '76-'80 F-body and truck/van with OD.

The bracket fits a 71 B bench seat.

Sorry but no it doesn't. This is the 71-4 B bench seat setup.

ok earlier picture is a stamped bracket, tough to see. your picture shows the heavy "slug" bracket, correct
your shifter appears to be the bayonet style, slide in (not for 71 according to Brewer)
the shifter is for the earlier B bodies at least. 71 is a 2-screw hole attachment for the shifter.
Just went around with this last week.

Well this one is definitely a bayonet style, the bracket has the 3 holes to mount to the transmission. The guy I got it from said it was from a B body but he got it from someone one else.

Correct is a 70 shifter but is a 71-4 B mount, handle and rods.

No it is an early 71 B-body shifter(that is a slip type Bench/Buddy seat 71 B-body handle), They made slip type shifters THEN went to 2 bolt handles later in 71-up models... This is another part like the early 71 cars having pot metal seat hinge covers and 4 bolt console trim tops...
