So after I'm just getting over my artificial disc replacement in my neck I'm now going in for a left rotator cuff. Just sucks, been hurting for a year, been getting stung along, but at least I'm at a point in my home remodel I can have a break. Any one have some tips or extra drugs to sell? Lol. I bought a cryocuff and a good recliner, my work is paying me to do bs online classes while out, so that's a bonus. Hope I can drive in 3 weeks but who knows. Hate this, want to be wrenching at work and home. My cummins needs work and I need to build walls I knocked out in the house.

Don't be trying to push a vacuum around the house real quick! Better-half wasn't back to normal for couple months or so.

You’ll heal faster with rotator surgery. You’ll be able to scratch your nuts while you heal .....but not your ***.

I've had both done. Get into the rehab as soon as possible, and push through the pain. Stay away from the painkillers, you won't need them...

Exactly! Great advice! You’ve got yourself the recliner, which you’ll need for a bit. Do EXACTLY as told to do by docs and pt people! Do not go rogue and over do things because you might be feeling better. You follow those simple things and you won’t need the meds and be back up and going in no time! Good luck!

I had my left one done in 2015, my right one done in 2016, both done in late fall after harvest so nothing important needed done. Not as bad as I expected, but everybody is different. As Xp29h said, don’t rush things, keep your arm in the sling, the first couple of weeks is the worst. After that you should be able to move around a little more. You’ll need help taking a shower for 2-3 weeks. Follow your stretching exercises and rehab, you’ll be fine. Just don’t overdo it!

I had mine done a few years ago. I had a therapy chair brought to my house and a cooler/pump set up that you fill with ice and it circulates the cold to a "shoulder blanket". I still have this and have loaned it to friends having the surg. After 2 weeks I started physical therapy. DOING THE P T is crucial.

I was a repeat dislocator and had reconstructive with 4 screws in my shoulder, for the first week you'll need the drugs for sure! I never knew that the human body could produce such beautiful blues, purples, and yellows when it heals from trauma, i.e. bruising in the armpit/shoulder area.

One thing I may add. If your a right handed guy or left and surgery is on that particular side your going to learn all over again how to wipe your azz.
The things we take for granted. Been there done that.

My boss had that, said worst part was learning to wipe his *** again. I'm good non dominant arm.

Well if there is a bright side to all this ... Thats it. :D
Glad your getting it fixed. Damn thing will just get worse if you dont.
Plus you will be healed up by the time the weather gets nice.
Hope it goes by fast for ya.
