Nice to find some people who appreciate the 1970 models. I overheard a woman talking where i worked about how her husband had passed away and she needed to sell his car. i inquired about it and she told me it was a 71 RR that has been sitting in her garage for the last 40 years. At the time she said it was towed into the garage after it broke down. She had no knowledge of what was wrong. No keys or title. She said she will get a replacement title. I offered her 5K. She wanted 12K. To much for a car that could possibly need motor and trans work. 1 year goes buy. i receive a call from the woman saying its yours for 5k. Because of a back injury i informed her dont want it. She told me she sold the house and needs to get car out in 2 weeks. She said she would also pay for the towing. I felt bad for her and agreed to take the car. Long story short. Motor was seized. Marvel Mystery oil freed it up. Found neutral wire from trans broken. Started up. Heres picture sitting in garage and after i cleaned her up.

Welcome from West Virginia. Deals like that are hard to come by, nice score!

so you even let her pay for the tow ? and really low balled her, im so glad you agreed to take the car, but hey at least you felt bad for her.... She is so lucky you came around when you did...............

You know the more I think about it, it was really nice of you to help her out when you didn't really want the car. Tell you what, I'll give you $5100 for it just to help you out since you were such a nice guy!

A friend of mine who owns a Demon offered me 6k when i was first telling him about the car. I almost sold it to him.

Awsome story!
I know you have plans... Care to share?
To be honest. I dont know how far to go with it. Its all original except for rims. I have the build sheet, manuals and service records from dealer. Found them in the locked glove compartment. I have talked to people and keep get conflicting ideas. One is its move valuable with original paint and parts. The other is to update it. Change carb, ignition, put disc brakes on the front and repaint it. This will be my 1st full year of owning the car. One of the reasons i joined the group. To hear some opinions. Have 15k to put into.

I even had the woman check with her kids and relatives to make sure they didnt want the car. I met one of the nephews. He told me about when his uncle would pick them up in the car when it was new. I could tell he wanted it but he had no place to work on it or store it. I told him once i had it running he can drive it this summer.

If you want to flip it, then don't do anything. You are only into it for 5K right now and once you tear into it there's no telling what you are going to find. You could easily find yourself at 15 just for body and paint unless you can do it yourself. Different story if you are keeping the car. If that's the case then do what you want, it's your car
