Anyone ever use Yukon gears and sure grip units? What reviews do you have.

Oh I have.... Save your money and rebuild a factory unit. I had one in my Duster for a commercial I had the pleasure of putting my car in (link below) I had a full Yukon setup 3.73 gears / axles the whole 9. The car would plant one tire and free spin the other like a worn out POS during donuts even tho it was a New unit with less than 2000 miles and maybe 25 passes at the track behind a 340 and 383. Im pretty sure i paid over $1500 for it and i wouldn't pay $150 for another one. Watch the video and know that it took alot of effort to make the donuts happen because the Yukon diff had a hard time keeping the backtires together.... on a 245/65/16 tire.... in a Duster with a 340... I try not to hate on things unless they are absolute trash, and well.... Hate, hate, hate

Had a new one put in my 742 back in 2017. It made abnormal snapping and popping noises...I used the correct lube, proper break-in, tried all the suggested tricks. When I opened it up there were pieces of spider gears in the bottom of the housing. The shop replaced it, new one started making same noises. This time I immediately took it back and they said everything looked good but the plates were galling/binding. They dressed them down, re-arranged them for less preload....nothing helped. At that point Yukon was not wanting to warranty another one so my shop said, "well screw ya then"..they installed an Eaton truetrac at no extra cost to me (which has worked perfectly from day one!)

I had new Yukon gears put in and they were really loud. Switched to Nitro gears much quieter.

At this point I'm looking really hard at the mopar performance sure grip with 3.55 gears
