How many engines and transmissions do you have stashed away ?

I have a lonely 1964 727 pushbutton BB transmission. Kind of looking for a big block to build for it.

Sounds like me ^^ . I have a Offy 4 bbl intake and B Body Slant 6 Hooker Headers that someday will find a home.
Also various 8 3/4 pumpkins and housings.

:rolleyes:What happens if you have a place to store them and years of accumulation...
I think I counted :eek:79 engines... diesel and gas not in a vehicle when I decided... I needed to stop counting.
But only 26 are mopars...nothing exotic

I speak and write the Queen's English. How about you? :p
:) I thought we did away with the Queen's English in 1776. We speak a bunch of different dialects of English, mine is called Southern Drawl. :)

Somebody might like that Flat Head V8... Do you know which GM division built it? I know Chevy had one, Cadillac had one... I don't think any of the other divisions had one but I'm hardly a GM historian...

The Sprint OHC 6 is another interesting piece....

I was under the impression that Chevy's first V-8 was the 265 OHV engine? I thought they were only 6 cylinder up to 1955.

yeah- what gm v8 is flathead?

1930's cadilac?

1 440
2 413's
1 400
1 383
1 361
4 727's
4 833's

Before typing this my initial thought was "I don't have that much sitting around anymore, I've been selling things off". Self delusion is a dangerous thing.

From Wikipedia

The Chevrolet Series D is an American automobile produced by Chevrolet between 1917 and 1918. Over 4,000 Series D cars were manufactured in the 1918 model year, and it was the first Chevrolet V8 car made. It was not until 1955 that Chevrolet made another V8.

1938 caddy flat head v8 sadly it's rough more of a boat anchor had a guy super excited about it drove 3 hours and decided it wasn't worth it ! It is very stuck car only has 36k documented miles but the Motor was pulled when car was set in storage and it sat under a bench and I guess with no oil

The ovc straight 6 is in very good shape and it was running not long ago it's in 66 LeMans I'm ready to do a motor swap on

I don't have any extra.
All my space is filled up with duck decoys, hunting gear, and boats.

This is why I couldn't find a bb for months, that someone was willing to sell, and a 440 is unobtainable around here for some reason.
I found a 340 for 1k firm that was complete but basically a boat anchor.
Eventually found a 383 for $500, and it appears it's a runner. Bought it from a guy north of 70 years who figured he wouldn't need one of the half dozen engines.

My neighbor has a 67 440 he will not sell, wants to put it in a Dart, but he's not looking for a Dart. I found him a Dart, post car, what he wanted, not interested.

I totally get it, but it doesn't mean I can't hate it.

Me, I'm selling everything that I know I'll never use, need to get out from under stuff.
