I ran new 3/8" fuel line, is it the same mechanical carter fuel pump as for 5/16" or is there a different pump needed.

If the pump has removable fittings you can change them however it really depends on why you changed the lines.
Are you trying to feed a bigger engine?
Did you change the tank pick up? or is it still 5/16ths?
A mechanical pump is not that expensive
You can get a Carter 120 GPH for $100 (big block)

sending unit and gas line are 3/8". Car, right now, has a 400 in it, however i plan on building a 440. I figured id just prep so i wouldn't have to later. No big horse power. I just wasn't sure if there would be a draw issue or pressure issue with the pump feeding through a 3/8" line.

I've got the M4862 carter with a 3/8 pickup and 3/8 lines all the way to the carb and have no issues. I was concerned that the pressure would be too high for the carb at 9psi but it seems fine. I think the 7-8 psi ones were backordered at the time or something.
