Cool! Did you do any resto-modding to them?Another welcome from Michigan! I've had three '73s in the past.
I don't think I paid too close attention to the pattern, but I think so yeah. Is that special? That could be an Aztec car.
Are the seats cloth with a square pinwheel kind of pattern?
Any ideas how best to proceed with restoring? The perfectionist in me says tear it down and do a full sand and restore, but the realist in me says I don't have the skills or time for that and it will sit in pieces until I have to sell it as junked like the other one we had. This one just needs some brake work and wiper assembly and I can drive it, worried about the rust though.
We had a second one in undrivable condition needed the full treatment but after my dad passed my mom sold the house which it was being stored at, and I had no way to transport it or space to put it at mine. So we had to sell it for next to nothing.
youve already answered your own question..
Dont tear it apart, youll never get it done and then youll have wasted your time again.
tell us more about the rust you are fighting, where its at how bad etc etc.
and also hey check out the front K frame Bushings << under your car.
they literally are rubber bushing the factory attached the engine cradle to the body of your car with.
these are notorious for splitting, dry rotting and literally falling to pieces.
replace with Solid spacers and never look back.
inspect closely those mount areas in body for Rust/Rot as well.
i have parted out chargers over the years because of too much rot in those areas.
Best wishes to you and hope any of this helps.
pics of the rust you're concerned about will help
im curious as to what you meant about an aztec version??That could be an Aztec car.
