Is there a difference between the 440's in Passenger and Police Cars?

There is a modern video on the internet where they put a '69 Charger in a wind tunnel. Then they put a '69 1/2 Daytona in the wind tunnel. That ought to give you an idea of what a '69 Charger is like at 100 plus.

So this leads me to the Question:

I'm asking because i'm looking for a 1969 Dodge Charger RT with a 440 right now
(most likely cant afford a Hemi Car except its pretty cheap and in driver quality maybe) and want
to do exactly that. Driving 130 to 150mph all day long. Well not all day long but for longer periods of time.
So can i simply put in a Radiator and Oil Cooler (maybe some better fans, pumps etc.) with Police Car specs or better and have basically
the same equipment with the same performance as the police cars installed?

what im gathering from your posts is you want to be able to cruise a 2 ton brick down the Autobahn at 150 mph for extended periods of time...?
first off, most r/t 440 chargers are banging anywheres from 40-60k for a nice one.
then you are gonna have to take it apart, and redo the entire suspension.
plus, hey, its a brick with a gaping maw for a grill.

lets say youve scored a project for 20 thousand us dollars.
you Will spend twice whatever you expect to ever get it to be Stable at those speeds.
and God help whomever you run into the back of at 150mph.
even with 6 piston disc brakes its Still a 2 ton car you are trying to stop.

can i suggest that you buy a used bmw instead and keep the charger for shows and enjoyment factor?
youd save a lot of money and aggravation for yourself.

I had a '69 Charger with a 383 and auto back in the '80's, and I only ever went to about 110mph. It didn't feel that flash at that speed. 70-90mph was about the best, although the power steering got a bit floaty.

My '70 Road Runner on the other hand....440 + 4-speed.....several times over 130mph, and twice at 150mph on the open road. At 150mph, that car felt stable, but then I was too scared to flick the wheel around too much...also towing a trailer at 140mph....that was great. Left a Shelby CJ 428 and a 66 Impala SS427 for dust on a very well known long straight bit of road north of Auckland.....too long ago for the cops to act on now. :D

Yes but i will directly buy a nice one in the 60k Range and more or less drive it like i stole it. :D
I would even buy a Hemi Car and do the same if i could afford it. In my opinion these cars are meant to be driven and not stored away in a museum or garage.

130mph, everything above would be cool but not needed.

I am also still pretty confident the Car will handle good enough.
I was already doing 100mph with my 1971 Cutlass with a 350 and pretty worn out suspension back then.
Heck at that time (as i found out later) even one coil spring was broken and the shocks were worn out to. (Fixed the Suspension on this car meanwhile).
Not what i would consider safe.
Well maybe the Olds has better areodynamics but i still think the Charger RT (with good condition suspension) will handle WAY better than my "base equipped" Cutlass anyway.

Well i will see how it handles and optimise if/what needed. :)

No. :D

LOL ! well, cant blame ya,bmw-s everyones had one or 2 lol.

if you can settle for 130 mph on the charger i think you might be okay.
youll still have to throw a lot of cash at the suspension.
by the time its over you will have built a pro touring car basically.

you could also plexiglass over the front nose/grill section ??
i Vaguely recall just such an animal from back in the days of a magazine thats defunct now.

yanno, theres a lot of my friends and even some cops who think im the craziest guy around.
however, you just beat me by a mile...
ive raced with a tow dolly at 120mph in ohio and canada and towed a trailer at just over a 100 thru various states.
but 140mph with a trailer?
you Sir,are my New Hero
can we get a picture of you with yer Mad Max gear on ?

Not sure where in Germany you plan on driving this in excess of 150 mph for extended periods of time or what do you consider an extended period of time? From what I understand the autobahn even has its limits.

Last year i was spending a whole Night driving a 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT (Rental Car) almost all night at about 120mph or faster. :D *
Its possible.
You just have to use a Autobahn without speed limit and not at rush hours.
There are also variable speed limits on some Autobahns.

But driving multiple Hours at those speeds (without slowing down and accelerating again in between) is of course pretty rare. (Due to traffic).
But from time to time i drive 120mph without slowing down for 1-2 hours or something. But this is basically always at night with very little traffic.

* With slowing down and accelerating again + some breaks.
I was not driving 120mph the whole night without slowing down in between.

 True story. It really did happen, and my wife (then girlfriend) was in the car with me....loving it. Apparently the trailer barely touched the ground most of the way. It became quite the joke at the Club's 25th Anniversary dinner a few years ago. Special mention was made of the trip.....the fastest BBQ trailer in the world. The guys 'trying' to catch me were Life Member of the club. It was quite memorable seeing them side-by-side.....in my rear view mirror, and getting smaller. :D

Oh...you made me dig out a photo album...stay tuned.

At those speeds I think you'll be stopping every hour to fill up....

Bordcomputer said 17.5 Liter per 100km at the end of the tour.
But i did not reset it bevor i started driving so dont know if thats true. :D

Years ago my Dad had a 65 Dodge 880 that was an ex-FBI car out of Ohio with a 426 Wedge. (Had paper work showing/proving it). Not sure what was done to it back then but it was and still is one of the fastest "stock" cars I have ever been in. Our guess was the FBI had is souped up as they said back then....

first there was the Hemi Rv that went to georgia and got a 440 swap.
ive heard a bunch of rumours over the years about supposed fbi cars.
id Love to see any paperwork and pics of these?
also,heres a memory

Paperwork all went with the car. My Dad traded it off.

I have tried tracking it back down since I know the history and who my Dad traded it off to. Story ended when I was told the 426 and trans was pulled and the car may have been sent off to the crusher in the 90's.

I rebuilt a 78 PI engine in 1998. It had a double roller timing chain and gears. The 440 magnum cam. Single valve springs with damper. Windage tray and 6 qt oil pan. Kim

1978 Police Fury 440 pursuit cars were the fastest standard production cars in North America.
In Canada the RCMP sent out bids for cars. These cars were bare bones.
When they got a bunch of Ramblers, which came standard with A/c, the dealership to remove the A/C.
A friend actually obtained a 1978 Monaco 440 RCMP car that had buckets and A/C. That was rare,
