As a newly minted Septuagenarian here, I am trying to best adhere to the advise about hunkering down and staying as much as possible out of the general population areas as best I can. I am trying to limit the outings for items I need or run out of, and stocking up to just hang here at the house. As has been suggested, those with chronic issues, I am wondering how those of us here on FBBO that have issues are doing what they can to try and not get the Wauhan Virus and also the Flu. I have COPD and Apnea and my breathing function is at 78% which is actually quite good for my condition. But for the most part, I am content to just stay at home and ride this thing out as best as I can. So how about all us Ol' Timers sharing exactly what each of us is doing to at least attempt to stay healthy and sane at this time. All the suggestions and tips/advise can go a long way in helping not only us Ol' Timers but everyone else. And Please...NO FOOKING TP BS!!! Enough of that crap already...cr8crshr/Bill:usflag::usflag::usflag:

About two years ago the local grocery stores have started to deliver to the house. We have used this service with terrific success. You order on line and select a delivery time the following day. If you use this service on a regular basis and order 100.00 or more each time the service is free. All local sale ads and national coupons are usable. Dave

I just had a double lung transplant and only go out when necessary. Dr app, theropy, labs. May be running out of supply’s soon

I'm 64 and handle equipment returned from hospitals for repair.
I'm doing what I have for 35+ years. Wash hands frequently. I go to the store when I need to. I have always limited personal contact. This stuff doesn't scare me. My brother died of AIDS and an uncle from TB.
I have stocked up on a few things...beer...bourbon...and bullets so no one can take my beer!
I'm pretty much a loner anyway.

Went to get a hair cut, just now, middle of the day, no one there. Going to the grocery store, now, most people are at work and it's by far less crowded. Wash hands after touching anything that is related to things people come in contact constantly. Opening and closing doors for my wife so she has less contact and only one of us needs to grab most anything. Simple things that we take for granted and never think twice about, I think about!

66 years old. Retiring this fall. Still playing hockey 4 hours each week. Work out in the garage every chance I get on the Charger. Have been going out but now this will be limited since businesses are shutting down for this virus. We carry a little bottle of Purell and wash all day after touching stuff. Kinda used to doing it since its what you do when on a cruise ship. We are stocked up and will weather this one out. I actually bought a case of Corona beer for the garage for our garage nights on thursdays. Be safe everyone....

I'm a medical disaster area in my general health issues, what's going on in my insides.
Survived prostate cancer, 5 years ago, have a bone marrow, white blood cell mutation, cancer, disease, that's called JAK-2, that's not curable, but controllable with a chemotherapy tablet, every morning.
Take pills to control high blood pressure.
Have diminished kidney function, whatever that means in the medical world.
And now i have been diagnosed with a bad heart, and issues that go along with that diagnosis.
At this point in time, i don't give a damm, about this virus, and just live my life day by day, and not worry about the virus taking me out.
Not doing anything out of the ordinary in my daily routine, about this virus putting me 6 feet under, and i am 67 years old.
Survived way too much already, without me worrying about this.
My .02 cents, anyway.

All the public gathering spots are closing down tonite at 8pm, schools are closed 'til after Easter recess. At 63, I'm not really changing anything, other than what was changed for me, and now No Access. I'm being a bit more careful, as I stop daily to check on my Mom, who'll be isolated in her home. I am thinking of making one last trip out to my local watering hole later, for a pitcher of Draft, and a Beef on Weck...

I'm 65... currently going thru a Shingles flare up, stress induced I'm sure. feel like azz... Been through kidney stones, diverticulitis and trigeminal neuralgia. Everyone of them hurts more than the one before it. Wasn't planning on retirement yet, but this is knocking me down... I'm just exhausted

Hy Vee or Wally World? Both deliver here in Waterloo.

I’m 66 and sick of this ******* hype including this thread. Going to work, riding the train, Linda got the Charger Smogged. Just do normal stuff and stay ******* calm.

Been house bound anyway waiting for a hip replacement that looks like I won't be scheduled for 2 more months now.
Not being able to walk much at all has taken the wind out of my sails.:(

I am 72 and 2 1/2 years ago had a triple bypass. I woke up from surgery in the IC unit, and I had been put on a ventilator. I guess it is called. I wondered if I was dying, seemed like it. I heard the nurse tell another one how COPD sucks! I have it. I have never gone to a doc about it. I keep going, just don't have the wind I used to have.
We live 45 minutes from North edge of Houston. Houston went from 15 cases to 30 in this last week. That is pretty darn few for the 3 rd largest city in the US> 95% of the people in my rural county drive to Houston for work. We do have 1 traffic light. So it is people here are around all the people in Houston anyway.
We have good supply of canned food freezer full, and already had a supply of TP!!!
We have Tylenol, cough medicine. We stay home unless absolutely necessary to venture out. We wash our hands.
We have plenty of dog and cat food livestock feed. Country boys will survive.
Less the bug kills us first!!?

I'm just avoiding large crowds and doing the sanitary stuff like frequent handwashing, etc.. Otherwise just going about my usual routine.

Mike: I use Hy Vee. With Karens' Alzheimers' it is a huge help. If your a regular and order over a hundred it's free. They really have done a fantastic job. Best to you and yours. Dave

I'll be 69 in 6 weeks and have dealt with allergies all my life. It's no telling what my lung function is but several years ago, the back 80 lit up and even with a respirator, I got smoked out trying to protect my shop and house from ash spark. Ever since, my allergies have made a big shift for the worse and this year, everything is blooming early and heavy so I'm suffering from it. Anyways, I still feel fortunate to be only dealing with that so far.

Went to the grocery store this morning about 8:30 and while it wasn't crowded, the stuff I went for was sparse but there was enough so I'm happy. A buddy and I that usually goes for lunch at least twice a week had a mild stroke 4 months ago is being jailed by his daughter and says we can't go and said to do take out. What? What difference does it make if the restaurant is still serving customers?? The kitchen and the wait staff will still be subject to everyone in there so take out won't matter imo. 45 minutes later she said we could go around 2. Hell, by then, I already had a beer and was starting on a 2nd and ate at home and have been working on my car a bit so.....no out to lunch today. Oh well. I'll be glad when this crap is over!

Thanks to all so far that have shared their input. Helpers we all must try to be and I appreciate what has been posted so far with the exception of...

Dennis...at least share what your doing instead of slamming my thread please!!! My premise is to have us all try and share what each of us are doing during this BS time. If your sick of it as most of us are, then please don't comment if you have nothing of relevance or significance to share. That is it in a nut shell unless you prefer to be a Lone Wolf and then be unable or unwilling to give any input then fine. Your point has been noted...Respectfully...cr8crshr/Bill:usflag::usflag::usflag:

My friend is a nurse. He recommended sipping Gentleman Jack. The alcohol really makes your throat feel sanitized and it opens up your sinuses. Even my non-drinking wife loves the way it make her throat and sinuses feel.

Alcohol will usually mess up your sinuses if you have allergies....but, it doesn't stop me :D
