What’s Everyone Doing with Stock Portfolios?

The oil and gas sector has been hurt the worst. Don’t touch it. The Saudis and Russians are still fighting for market share and that is going to tank the energy sector for a long time to come.

This is the third "opportunity" we've had in less than 20 years.

9/11

"the great recession"

Corona

My REIT that was $16, which I thought was on sale at $12 and a steal at $8.....

...is $5 today

The only long term winners I have left are AT&T and JP Morgan.

I believe that this is the only time that the market will come back quicker than before because of how good it was right up to all this virus. All indicators before showed that it was not heading down anytime soon.

I respect your thought process!! REIT are a good move and whether you're retired or not, their advantages are great.

I still own a lot of At&t and the trading price means little to me, it's about the dividends which they haven't lowered.

What remains to be seen is whether job losses from small business that don't have contingency payroll buffers will create a ripple effect on larger companies that provide things like consumer goods and retail space.

That would suck for commercial real estate and cell phone providers.

I don’t think any size business will be immune to this but small businesses are definitely at the front lines. I feel bad for the SB owner. There’s going to be many thousands of them that don’t make it. From a trading standpoint I only own large caps for precisely this reason. I never thought it would happen - but just in case it did......

I am officially down 50% from the day before the panic.

Only long term winner left in my bucket is AT&T.

I’m not even gonna look if it stays under 20.

this sucks for people that need their portfolio for short term cash needs. For most everyone else its a paper loss. If you can free up some cash and buy small positions after a dip, you will be rewarded when the market rebounds (and it always does).

How low can this go? Is it possible to lose everything if you don’t sell? I’m exclusively in mutual funds but worry about them going bottoms up. The **** hasn’t even hit the fan yet in terms of infections and deaths. Wow never could have anticipated this.....

I'm buying ETF's today and everyday the market drops till I get to the bottom.

I usually check our mutual funds at the end of every month to measure how they are doing. I will not be looking the rest of the year because there is no sense in looking. I'm not going to sell or trade anything. They have done very well in the past 7/8 years and I expect them to rebound somewhere down the line.

Not looking at it everyday, can't change
any of what I have.
Only buy when I think it's the bottom.

Let’s hope the market is fishing for a bottom today. The Nasdaq is 100 points higher than the Dow. Does that mean tech stocks might lead the way back. I think those and healthcare are a good bet to do so. I read last night that Dow 15k was likely the bottom end. Let’s hope not!

chipping away....buying, it's all on sale!

KR, SYY,SBUX,MO, T, BP, KO(all pay DIV).......(OGI,for a pop and dump)
:popcorn2:
