You dont have to be an a**hole

The asshole turns and says to me as he is walking away, "who asked you?". So I barked bark at him, "I am telling you!".

And that was it. Now I felt bad afterword because your not supposed to talk to others like that. But, he was an asshole.
You shouldn't feel bad. "You reap what you sow" as they say, and he had it coming, and YOU where the only one who stood up to him, the poor counter guy couldn't.

I see a lot of ignorance on the Carnival ships - let's just say its the Walmart of cruise lines. I absolutely refuse to go on Carnival ever again. We recently did two weeks on Celebrity and it was AWESOME.

It sucks for sure. Some people aren't happy unless they're making everyone around them unhappy. Piss poor social skills if you ask me, too bad they didn't get that *** kicking when they were younger and deserved it. There used to be consequences when people behave improperly. The younger gen doesn't get this kind of tough love/education that a lot of us graybeards were exposed to when we were growing up.. Society is on a slippery slope I fear....
I miss the days of consequences. I believe society made a wrong turn, when it veered away from them.

So this is Cruse related!
Just heard from some people we know guy was retiring and decided a Cruse was best .so they were of course on this Cruse at the worst time ever . They were kept like prisoner s weren't aloud of boat.... They found out someone died from the virus on the Cruse before there's ! And apparently they didn't clean good enough because the whole boat got sick . They said they didn't give anyone info about what was going on or anything they went to Port to re fuel and get food . They said they saw the meat wagon waiting to remove someone who died on there boat ... And remove sick people!
They said that it was just horrible to be there

Like.........You remember that Asshole who caused a scene at the hot dog station yesterday, well I heard last night he fell overboard and hasn't been found

Just got back from a 10 day cruise in the Caribbean. One thing happened on the ship that I want to share.

I was in line to get a hotdog and fries from the grill up on deck by the pool. It is lunch time and very busy, the dogs are really good. I was third in line behind two other older men like me. Actually the ship only had older men like me. Anyway, the guy first in line got his 2 hot dog and fries plates from the guy behind the counter, and the asshole states loudly and with attitude, "cant these guys understand, I dont want fries!". He then tilts both plates and pushes the fries off the plates right on to the counter. The poor guy behind the counter just says "nooo", in a confused manner, like why did you do that look on his face. But, he cant and doesnt say a word to the asshole.

Now the help on the ship doesnt understand, they speak basic food serving english, thats it. They work hard and dont complain. Most are from third world countries. They all go out of there way to be nice even though they dont understand much. The asshole didnt have to do that. Now the server had to stop the line, and clean up the ******** mess.

The guy in front of me, and behind the asshole, turns and looks at me with a disgusted smirk on his face. So I say loudly,"some people just have to be an asshole". Loud enough for the asshole to hear as he was putting ketchup on his dogs. So I repeat even louder, "you dont have to be an asshole". I am sure he heard because I could see his back tighten up.

The asshole turns and says to me as he is walking away, "who asked you?". So I barked bark at him, "I am telling you!".

And that was it. Now I felt bad afterword because your not supposed to talk to others like that. But, he was an asshole.

....I was skiing is Austria like 20 years ago and some Brit was treating the bar maid worse than dirt.....big dude, totally sober....and viscous. I waited until he was good and drunk, dared him to get naked and run around the bar....lol. He did, but before he got halfway 4 of us jumped him and tied him up with cloth tape.....the kind you use on ski poles.....nice grip. By the time they got that **** off him he looked like a zebra....lol

Well I wouldn't be too hasty to blame the cruise line. This virus outbreak is serious **** requiring serious measures. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the ports of call who weren't allowing people to disembark. The cruise we were on in November was supposed to stop in Puerto Vallarta but got diverted to Mazatlan. Not the cruise lines fault - there were too many ships already in port.

seems like some people just can't stop themselves,
from being real ********

way too many stories like that today,
of people, from all parts of the world

I haven't been on a cruise in many years, just not my choice anymore. Well this summer, my wife and I celebrate 50 years of marriage and we have been to 49 states while rv'ing. I thought, well maybe lets go to our fiftieth state for our fiftieth. Don't care to be on a plane ride that long either, so I booked a cruise on the Grand Princess last year, for cruise next month. Paid a deposit and then a unforeseen issue came up and I had to cancel.
I was expecting a refund of deposit, looking at their time chart. Well fine print says that no deposit refund is given for special price cruises. You couldn't pay me to get on that boat now.

Oh yeah I agree it's the ports that won't let anyone off I'm sure the ship wants everyone gone . But in all honesty they shouldn't be doing these Cruse s after this was announced they had someone die on board because of it they cleaned up and refilled the room ! That is stupidity to me !

Reply to Sahara`s post. My Peeve.
Tourists that go to a hotel that has breakfast included cooks and waitress on hand. Some nationalities don’t even remotely consider leaving a tip. We were in Mexico, at a small hotel, had excellent service from all staff. Left tips quit often.
Night before we left, our room attendant knocked on our door. Said please have this bottle of wine. I said we didn’t order one. Answer was Thank You for being thoughtful, was a pleasure to have you.

But Carnival is cheaper. I been on 2 cruises with them and I do not believe I have seen any ignorance.....yet.

We do 2-3 cruise every year. See ******** on these ships all the time. We always cruise with our neighbors. The wife and our neighbors wife were playing 3 card poker. Some lady came up to the wife and said, 'you've been playing a long time. don't you think you should take a break and let someone else play.' My wife stated that the middle chair was open, sit there. The other women wanted my wife's chair because it was lucky for her. My wife said, 'sorry but I'm not moving.' This lady then calls the wife a bitch. Mean while the hand is dealt, the wife flips over her cards and had the ACE, KING, and NINE of clubs. The dealer flipped his cards, yep, QUEEN, JACK, and EIGHT of clubs. ROYAL FLUSH! The wife just won 5k. She waited for her chips and told the lady you can have this chair now......that lady was pissed. Me.....:bananaweed:

The last cruise the habit on sea days was to get up, put a towel on a deck chair then bugger off for two hours for breakfast. But kudos to the deck staff who, after 15 minutes of vacancy, removed all personal belongings and made the chair available again. They were diligent enough to know who was in the pool, etc and left those chairs alone. But I tell ya, there were some pissed off people until they realized they weren't going to get away with that ****.

Good thing that cruise ship wasn’t in Idaho, they would have strung him up right there.

Well maybe you're one of the people I'm referring too !! Here's a checklist:

- loud and obnoxious
- takes more food than they can eat
- thinks shorts, flipflops and wife-beater shirt are appropriate dining room attire
- treats all the staff like ****
- thinks tipping is unnecessary

I could go on but you get my drift.

Friends of ours cruise all the time and are always trying to get us to go along. When they tell stories about having a Butler and being treated like a King/Queen it just turns me off.

If he was bitchin' over some fries on a plate, what "special" words do ya' think he might have for the Captain on this cruise.......

If they're rolling in cash "maybe" but if they're average folks they're lyin' bastards. The suites with dedicated "butlers" are like 25 grand a week and up and are truly "all inclusive".

Cruise ships are weird, odd entitled people sometimes...

On mine, you had to reserve for dinner. If you didn't, you had to wait for a spot. They made this CLEAR multiple times

This couple in their 70s, was constantly complaining about it, asked for a manager . Manager gave them FREE mixed drinks whole they waited. They kept complaining, saying they are filing a complaint

After 15 min, we get in together. They sit down, and complain to the waiter, he gets manager. Manager explains again. Bthey get his name and waiter ( who was super fast and nice)

They complained about the food all dinner, and put together a plan of who they are gonna report. It was sickining

As they are complaining about the roast, I said " mines great, whats wrong with yours?"

They sneered at me, and just said " it's terrible"

That was the first time I had ever experienced something like that, it was unbelievable, they were SO unhappy...
