Who has been put out of work and sent home ?

We were given access letters from the American association of railroads to put in our car in the event of a “lockdown” we show it to the police, emergency workers or whoever to let us pass through and go to work. The railroad is part of the essential supply chain they’ll never shut us down.

I’m retired and sent myself home.....

The wife is a Registered Nurse and works at U of CA Medical Center. All Covid-19 patients are being directed to her floor. Yes I’m worried - she’s like a soldier......
God's protection over her and you. My wife is also an RN and on the front line

I'm at work. I guess golfballs are critical right now. ( I make golfballs)

I've been deemed a critical worker.
No surprise, people have become accustomed to having electricity.
I'm never really off work.

I've been deemed a critical worker too.
No surprise, people have become accustomed to having food.
I'm never really off work.

Still working here, but just me and the cats unless Billy comes out to work on one of his projects.

Waiting on several slow-pays at the moment and trying to be patient and understanding of their plight. Thankfully fairly stocked up on essentials right now and hoping it lasts until payments come in.

Considering past outbreaks, I'll say this situation is either REALLY scaring a lot of people ... or something really big is going on and the powers that be don't want innocents in the way. The prevention methods certainly seem overblown in light of actual statistics.

I hear you. As a consultant I get that all the time, even in good times. Those folks need to pay something....50% now, rest later kind of deal...

We have 800 employees thru out the country and all are working from home since Tuesday. We will be for at least the next 2-3 weeks. Luckily for me I work a 3-day work week 12 hour days. I'm retiring in Sept thank god. The wife works part time at the super market which has been hectic on some days for her. Our one son is a police officer so they are being careful. The other son works for the U. of M. medical research facility managing one of the labs. They have been very busy as you can imagine. I'm going nuts with no hockey to watch and our skates on friday and sundays are done since the rinks are closed. I try to go into the garage and see what I can do on the Charger. Everyone stay healthy and hopefully this will blow over soon.

My wife is an account manager, they just had a meeting at work and there closing the business for 30 days. I'm working day by day, only 1 day this week.

I'm off till 4/12 minimum.
The wife is a coordinator at a hospital, so shes in every day.
Daughter had music, karate, swim and library classes canceled. Shes 4 and pretty upset.

We have over 5550 employees in several different buildings. We are all still working.

This year I was supposed to coach 2 little league teams which I was really Looking forward to, the season has been suspended until further notice. Bummer

Since moving to Oklahoma in September, I haven't worked at a proper job. I got my dad through hospice for the first five months and since then have been working on my brother in laws house updating the electrical.
My wife stayed back in California to close out a small clothing company that she was running. She is coming on Saturday until this blows over if not for good. I am taking a break from working at the bro-in-laws until with wife has been here long enough to be deemed virus free. My sister and bro in law have a five year old.
While the whole thing is pretty scary, staying home to work on my 63 Plymouth and having someone to talk to in the house besides the dog sounds pretty good. Im also looking forward to some home cooking that isn't mine. lol
today I start project French drain! Stay safe everyone.

Just two weeks ago I came out of semi-retire mode to help a work friend on a huge construction project, a mfg plant and wonder with all of the shutdowns what the F the rush is to work this project. Every day there's new rules announced in the effort to address the covid19. The break tent is limited to 10 people...so ya walk a half a mile to it to only find you're the 11th person. Some contractors have banned their people from going to the break area so find a spot on the site to sit and eat. No good areas for that sitting on pallets of supplies and putting your stuff on the floor. Then they got a rule on no gum chewing while working? They started temp checking new hires only last week and now going to check everyone starting next week. 'Safety' rules are incredible on this site; but a slow reaction on this thing. They moved the porta-shitters so some guys need to walk 1500 feet to take a dump. The safety guru's are more concerned about an electrical cord on the floor though

Staying away from the idiots in the off topic section over at DC.com.
All the years I have Never checked that site out... Heard of it. I google searched it and Nothing comes up under DC.Com (comics do) DirectConnection.com etc.....

The break tent is limited to ten people? How will that do anything? The people rotate in and out until everyone has come in contact with each other.
And moving the crapper away? No matter how far away they are you still gotta go there.
No gum chewing? Wtf?

Still working in construstion and hvac/plumb service. Who knows if there will be a whiplash effect or if it will remain business as usual (or i'll croak lol).
