looking for this piece pictured that goes by the glove box

I have this part in fair condition. Will need to be restored. PM me if interested. Joe

If it’s any help I redid my ‘70 wood grain dash. I had parts from three different dashboards, some had wood grain, some didn’t. I removed the old finish and bought the proper 3m wood grain vinyl to reapply. It was pretty easy if you’re careful. The proper vinyl is very expensive, so be warned... this isn’t cheap eBay crap.
It’s exactly how the factory did it so it looks factory. If I can be of assistance just let me know.
I would think someone could airbrush one very close to the original. Thanks

You possibly could airbrush one CLOSE to original but it’s probably easier to do the Vinyl EXACTLY like the original. I did mine in a couple of hours. Your car, your call, though

Originals did not have a vinyl overlay for rallye dash (Charger, GTX, Super Bee). You may have found something that is representative of non rally dash cars. A repo vinyl overlay on the rallye dash is noticeable from a mile away.

Rallye dash and non rallye are very different. The rallye dash parts are 3 piece (plastic backer, metal overlay with tabs, aluminum overlay with woodgrain). See attached photo. Woodgrain was originally some type of paint/silk screen process.

Cool. All of mine were vinyl wrapped, but then none of them were rally. Mine look like the top one in your picture. On the middle and bottom ones, are they chipped or is that corrosion?
BTW - there used to be guys advertising in Hemmings that restore painted wood grain dashes on high end cars. There may be someone in there that can help.
