Do I Screw The Side Cover To The Console Then Glue The Carpet On Or Do I Glue It The The Cover First?

Thanks

If I remember correctly, I glued the carpet to the side cover, and then installed it. Seemed much easier that way.

Thank You. Just Wondering How It Attaches To The Console?

I have CRS and you are taxing my memory :), but as best as I can recall, I simply stripped the old carpet off and then used a spray carpet adhesive to attach the new carpet and then added the trim before reinstalling the console.

You glue the carpet to side cover then screw it to the console, The question is whether to attach it in the car or out. I just did mine. Right or wrong I glued carpet to the side cover using 3M High Strength 90 contact adhesive (both sides), let sit for 3 or 4 minutes then adhere. I then used a soldering iron to melt the carpet to make the holes for screws and trim clips accessible. I assembled the side cover and trim onto the console on my bench.
Its big and bulky, but the console can be maneuvered to get into its final location without too much hassle, I did this while my shifter was out.
In this manner the only screw attachment that I couldn't access was the front drivers screw to console bracket on the side of the console because the side cover was already installed. Once I installed the cosole mounting screws the console was solid.

Attaching the top plate was a bit tougher than before for me because I had changed from a bayonet stab in style shifter to a bolt in style.

I attached the shifter boot to the top plate, then stabbed shifter through the boot. I then had to hold the top plate while bolting the shifter to the shifter box.
Overall It wasn't too bad.
I did the assembly on my bench as I had remembered the last time I did it. I had issues getting the trim and clips in while bent over. My back and patience couldn't hack it.

Thank You For The Reply.

I’ll Give It a Try Tmrw

There Were 4 Cup Shaped Washers That Were With My Console. What Would Those Be For?

My console was missing when I got my car. The console i bought had a mismatch of hardware with some bizarre looking spacers
To install my console I used a "console screw kit" that didn't have any "cup shaped washers".
You have any pictures?
