I love good bourbon! My favorites tend to be Weller 12, which is a nice wheated bourbon. Same for Weller Antique and to a lesser extent Weller Special Reserve. Elmer T Lee is my newer favorite. Very great taste and easy to sip neat. Buffalo Trace brand is very good overall. Makers 46. Woodford Reserve is readily available and a great bourbon for the price. EH Taylor Small Batch is also very very tasty. It all depends on what's available in your area.

Just some cheapies. I drink everything neat so even cheap has to be smooth. I have tried some upper to top shelf stuff at a tasting club I belong to. Nice but way too rich for my blood.
Bourbon is ok but I am a rye guy. I have taken a liking to highland scotch. But again, a little out of my price range.

Running low. Only 1 bottle of Buffalo Trace left.

I love bourbon
unfortunately I can't have it at home,
I don't keep any booze in the house
I still drink occasionally, just don't do it at home anymore
my dad lives with me & can't drink anymore (he use to drink a qt. a day for 50+ years)
& he can't control it either, I won't contribute to it (health & heart issues)

1st Makers Mark is my personal Favorite,
especially with a Sam Adams Cream Stout back

2nd Nobb Creek almost a push between the above & this

3rd Jim Beam Black (distiller/maker of the 2 above brands)

4th Probably Jack Daniels when I want a mixed drink

5th I use to like Kesslers it's a blended version, it's great with Coke
tastes like Dr. Pepper with a kick

Makers Mark is the standard for me. Woodford Reserve is excellent, but only on the very special occasions.

I never was much of a drinker, not aloud to drink at all now. (Health) I bought a 66 charger in 95 that had been setting for over 20 years. I got it running and drove it around for a couple years. Then I took the interior apart to put carpet and seat covers in. When I took the console apart, I found a bottle wrapped in a brown paper bag. It was Yellowstone Tennessee bourbon. Never opened. I tasted it, was really strong.

Built a whiskey room in the attic. Everything from Yamasaki to Kavalan to Whistle Pig to Balcones from Waco, TX

I’m in the same boat as Budnicks. I can’t keep it in the house, or I’ll drink all of it. And I vowed that my wife and daughter would never see that side of me.
But occasionally in a social situation I will taste. I like any of the quality whiskies, bourbon is my favourite but a smooth rye or scotch is good, also. Never with mix, I like water, mixed half and half.
Of the “common” brands I like Wild Turkey. Good enough for Hunter S. Thompson, good enough for me.

Twenty years ago I went to Scotland. Saw literally MOUNTAINS of barrels of scotch. Thousands of barrels. Couldn’t believe it. Much like the warehouses of cheese in France. Thousands upon thousands of wheels of cheese.
Has anyone here admitting to trying real, quality ‘shine? Had the quality stuff in a mason jar one time. Amazing! I found it more like a drug then a drink. Perhaps because it was so pure? I dunno. DEFINITELY couldn’t keep that in the house.

I like Buffalo Trace, Jim Beam, Gentlemen Jack, and some of that clear liquor that drips from the still on occasion! 440'

For my tastes, Jefferson's Reserve is the #1 best, period, end of discussion.... but at $50 a bottle, I only pick it up once every so often.

Makers Mark, Knob Creek, and Eagle Rare are also very excellent choices.

But, for a good "go to", I usually keep Evan Williams on hand. You just don't have to spend a whole lot, (relatively speaking) to get a great tasting, bourbon.

Been drinking Evan Williams for years now. Not many bars have it on the shelf so then it's Jim Beam.

Can't afford the good bourbon so it's Evan Williams or Ezra Brooks. Used to like 1843 years ago.

BTW Jack Daniel's (yes, there is an apostrophe) IS NOT bourbon. Its whiskey.
All bourbon is whiskey but not all whiskey is bourbon.
