Was wondering if anyone has installed a gen3 Hemi in a 62-65 Mopar? If so, what issues? I'm asking specifically about these years, since the engine is located further forward.

I have one in my 65 coronet,I built my own mounts for the block as none were available when I did mine. I used 2005 truck exhaust manifolds at first but have TTI headers now. Had to notch the lip of the K frame for the Charlies oil pan I used.I have one of the first XV motorsports carbed intake packages on mine.

Thank you for replying. Did you use a stock K member? What trans did you use?
I have a 2018 392 Challenger, and I love the engine, and the 8 speed trans, although I think it's optimistic to hope the 8 speed would fit.

Have you seen the US Cartool tunnel reinforcement they developed to swap in late model OD standard transmissions? Pretty neat idea.

I have. But maybe I want too much, but my hope is to fit the engine with the stock K member, and because the engine is mounted forward of the later model B body, I'm hoping it will minimize any cutting of the tunnel/ trans crossmember.

Mancini Racing sells the motor mounts, fabbing the transmission mount wouldn't be too difficult, oil pan should clear with a small notch on the K-member

I wanted to move my engine to the rear as far as possible so, with tips and pics from DVW, I cut out the transmission hump for clearance. The OEM floor pan is so tight the shape of the KD servo is stamped in! Also fabbed a new cross member. If you want photos let me know. It gave me extra room for my cooling package too.

Yes stock K ,727 for small block.

Anyone using an overdrive trans? What type? I'm hoping to keep the engine in the stock location, to maybe have some tunnel space.

Ran a TKO600 for a few years - I ended up doing some slight trans tunnel modifications as it typical for that install and now working on my T56 swap - may need a little bit more modifications than what I already did - to be determined after I get the MS3X up and running
