Not quite what I was expecting. The first bicycles were chainless. Wonder what the cost difference is.

It wont go anywhere with out pedals

Exactly....and some clever swine in China will already be copying that design, and have it ready for mass release before Christmas.

Sad but true... I hope the world will wake up to that reality.... We'll see...

The Chinese have no respect or regard for Copyright Laws in other countries.
The Chinese Government has no respect or regard for its own people but this is not the right form for this type discussion. Back to discussing bicycle development.

In the motorcycle world, shaft drive bikes are the most inefficient. A chain can deliver 98% of the power to the wheels, I wonder what this design is capable of? It does look interesting though.

I don’t buy it as a salable item. While the idea is smart, and the sample is pretty, I think that there’s a reason it doesn’t show the bike being ridden. That large rear gear is thin, and will deflect under torque. The little roller bearings on the drive shaft will break off. Both of these can be addressed by making the respective parts heavier and stronger, but at that point you’re probably better off with a chain.
