This tread actually got my attention. Turquoise should be the correct color not orange by the way. But "funny" you post this, the 383 HI-PO engine in my stepfathers '66 Charger is also orange, however the valve covers are turquoise. The motor was painted black when my stepfather got it.
I'm not a fan of turquoise. This was a /6 car originally, so I'm not limited in anything I do since it's not a true restoration but I don't want it to look out of place either. The car will eventually get a hemi, so I guess I can wait for the orange until then. OTOH, the 1969 vintage 383 (stroked to 432) will be sold off then, so maybe it will be orange to help with resale for those that need that vintage in orange. Either way it will look good in either turquoise or orange, maybe even black.
I'll probably go with turquoise though. Thanks for all the feedback.
