Uncle Tony Finds an Unrestored '63 Dodge Max Wedge!

Fun video. Some problems.

All max wedge cars DID NOT have the battery in the trunk.

Sandblast those pipes and patch them? That’s a no win deal. Wall hangers!
Same with that vari-cam. That would be expensive to have that fail on a running engine.

those valve covers are not like a Chevy. WTH Tony, LOL

He drove the car there, and now it’s sinking into the dirt with trees growing around it. But it’s a high priority to restore it. With the pine needles piling up all over it.

Might want to get started on making sure there will be a car left to restore.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. That car needed to be restored 20+ years ago.Gotta love these guys with the "Some Day I'll restore it ". But it's his and he can do what he wants with it. I wish him the best of luck.
Here is a photo of my friends real 64 Aluminum front end 4 speed Max Wedge car that he has been "Restoring" for the last 40 years.
I think we will be covering him with dirt before he gets around to it,"Some Day " At least it is inside.

I've got a 64 Ply. MW I've had since 1970 Been in the restoration process for over 20 of those years! Mostly because other projects getting in the way,And then the body man doing the body and paint! Hopefully it'll get done before I'm done in

It will still be there in the dirt until it rots away. Another "I'm going to restore that car". Sad.

QUESTIONS....
Who is "Uncle Tony" and what is his claim to fame? Why is Uncle Tony's shoes being shown? The "small" Carter 3447S carbs noted, were on the Stage II 426 MW engine for 1964.
Second question is: Where is the car located?
Third question is: Is it for sale as well as all the associated parts...intake manifold, carbs exhaust stuff, etc.?
Or.....is this car NFS....because it, along with Uncle Elmo's 1947 Studebaker, also in the backyard, is a candidate for being "fixed up" by Uncle Elmo, who, having passed on, is unable to fux it, will not be sold.....because ????
Remember....$$$$ talks....lets see some prices....perhaps someone with deep pockets may step up. IF this were a Stage III MAXWEDGE car with the tri-Y exhaust manifolds and the Carter 3705SA carbs..... wishful thinking.....

Uncle tony is the guy with the beard they showed the whole video. The shoes person is the car owner.

(To me) His claim to fame is he’s a real car guy that speaks well and has many mopar videos about how things work, and how to do things, all mopar related.

The 3447 is right for 1963 MW, wasnt the 3705 the bigger ones and new for 1964?

3447 is the correct carb for 1963 MW. It is the 3705 that was the bigger carbs used in 1964 only.

My info shows the 3447S is used on the '62 413 Stage I MW and also on the '63 426 Stage II MW. And the 3705SA used on the '64 426 Stage III MW. The 3705A was used on the 426 Hemi early production then changed to the Holley R3116 770 CFM carbs.....but, I'm sure open to discussion...
Any chance that he (Uncle Tony or shoes ??) may want to sell the car and parts ? BTW... where is the car located?

Doubt it.I think Tony is a New Yorker. Sounded like the 'ol boy in the shoes would never let it go.

Correct R413, 3447s were used on 62 413MWs and 63 Stage 2 426s. (There was no Stage 1 designation used). 64 426 MWs were all Stage 3s using 3705s. This Dodge does have many of the MW parts and arrangements specific to the originals. Would need to check the VIN# with Darrell Davis or his 63 Dodge model book and then the body shipping numbers. I ran into and inspected a similar car like this 2 years ago in the Baltimore area.

62 413 3447 carbs 63 426 3447 carbs 63 426 stage 2 june of 63 3705 carbs and all 64 426 stage 3 3705 carbs

I believe there is a difference between the Carter 3705S and Carter 3705SA carbs. The 3705SA was considered the "bigger" at 770 CFM snd the 3705S was considered the "smaller" at ~ 750 CFM. The Holley R-3116 used on the Hemi was rated at 770-780 CFM. Just my opinion of course.

I went to the Race Hemi.Max Wedge.com web site.....very definitive.....excellent information. unfortunately all of the reference books and publications were sold out.
See Jim Kramer for max wedge parts plus tons of NOS Mopar parts. He even has 2 altered wheel base A990 cars

All things being equal, the throttle bore ,venturi area and booster size, where did the additional 20 CFM come from ?

The car could still be saved ,but at what cost ?
Their value has dropped over the past few years & the cost of all the specific parts would be huge

Guess I shouldn't feel to bad since I got two of them that have only been sittiing around a couple years

Sitting around isn't a problem but the way he has that one sitting around sure is. Why would anyone who understands the valve ,either monetary or sentimental leave any possession in that condition . These "car guys" are really the anti-car guys of our hobby. They will never repair nor sell these projects. At the end of my street sits a 1970 Chevelle that i have watched rot into the ground over the last 25 years. Talked to the owner once and he told me that he leaves it in his driveway uncovered because he "Gets a kick out of young guys stopping by asking if it's for sale". The car is now so bad the driveway is rust stained all around the car. You would think the guy feels like an *** for doing this but no, their it sits to this day, ruined. ( I mean it's just a Chevelle so who gives a **** but still) This guy in the video will have the same end results.Sad
