Hello fellow BBodies! I am in the final stages of an ongoing, on and off again, 10 year restoration of a VERY SPECIAL car. This was purchased new in 1965 by my Grandmother, a petite 5'4" firecracker. No surprise she opted for the 500 series with the big block. She passed away many years ago and the car was driven by my Mom for about 8years and the put away in a barn for another 9 years. My Father attempted an upper end engine rebuild that was never completed and after many years of pleading the car was finally given to me. I was able to complete the started rebuild and got it running and drove it for a couple of years before starting the complete restoration project 10 years ago. Shortly after starting, I blew out 6 disks in my back, four surgeries, and was unable to work on it for a couple of years. Another two years of working on it, time and money, and hit with a heart attack and a five way bypass, another two years of not working on it. But, here it is finally! I believe another couple months and it will be on the road again after a Very Long 10 years. I know Grandma is grinning.

Welcome

Talking about perseverance! Sounds like you and the car has been through a lot!

Good for you for sticking with it. The car and your Grandmom definitely deserves it.

Welcome to the forum. You just can’t beat those early Bs. Your health history sounds about like mine, hang in there.

It's a great feeling to be welcomed by a community of Mopar, especially B Body, fans! I've wanted to have this car since my Grandma picked me up in it from school, and wasn't about to let the car next to her to get out in front. It was hilarious!
I'm pumped to get it finished and will have pics to post on the progress.

welcome to FBBO, cool 65 Coronet projetc

Awesomely AWESOME! Great family story, too! I acquired my great aunt’s ‘56 New Yorker after my mom drove it for a couple years back in ‘73. Like a FOOL, I sold it to a guy at a car show in the early ‘80’s. Still wish I owned it!!! Bests to you & be safe on the road! Scott
