I saw the thread on the stock market Sell/hold

Do you think any boomers are gonna sell their stock, and buy a car to hold their money? If you buy right, MIGHT be a good idea, thoughts? Anyone noticing a uptick in sales? I got a few emails on my 66 charger project

Many people bored, not working and want to buy something. You never know when or why a buyer is ready to make the purchase.

I think we are about a month away from a buyers market.
Barrett Jackson and Mecum shut down and a economy heading to the toilet has got to reduce prices.
Possible scenario is massive inflation from the stimulus bail out. That phenomena would be price increases on new Toyota's and price decreases on classic muscle, etc.

Waiting if both buying and selling. Wrong time to move funds from...

I disagree with the doom & gloom group

I think it will be a Bull Market in a couple months
both cars & stock market (edited even jobs too)

It's not the time to sell, maybe buy

What about older people who are pulling their money out, where is average Joe gonna put it to protect it best they can?

The "older" people aren't the ones pulling their money out of anything. They are the ones with enough sense to "sit tight" and wait it out.

Given that we are still going through the period of uncertainty, the only reason to sell now would be if someone offers money that you are completely happy with.

Anything less than that may cause regret in a short amount of time.

By all means, buy cars if you really want them....but only if you can afford to buy them, as well as have sufficient income to support yourself for the foreseeable future.

Probably under their mattress. Bunch of loonies out there thinking the banks are going to fail so they are withdrawing stacks of $100 bills.

A buyers market is coming especially for projects. Its will also be a good time to get work done. My body guy was laid off and is desperate for work. He is getting my Charger in a week and gave me a deal.

No selling here. We went through tough times in the past. And it was not easy. But we were able to figure out how to make it work. Selling nice stuff in the past made for some miserable years later. Not this time around.

Now would be the worst time to sell. But, if someone has to put toilet paper on the spools, then it is what it is...

people are still uncertain where this is all going . I think it's still to early to know where we'll be in a couple of months. generally, people that have finished cars and projects are still wanting to be driving them in the summer. people that are in a tough position financially may be forced to sell just to make ends meet, because let's face it, that 1200 buck stimulus will be gone in minutes.

The solution? Don't buy a Toyota.

I don't think we have seen anything yet but I think we will be in for surprise when it does hope it will get better soon the idiots are on the rise be prepared for the worst and hope for the best have faith

I'm older, not pulling any money out of anything.
I bought my last car when market was down,
figured the car, which was nice would probably
hold it's value, besides I could drive and enjoy

After many years of looking and dreaming I bought a #s matching 1971 road runner 383 4spd, 3:91 sure grip, 14" polyglas on rally wheels 100% stock from a private owner had for 13 years. He is an average guy was asking $37.5K on Hemmings got for 35K delivered (140 miles) "as is". The seller told me that I was the only serious buyer, he is a great guy and has ~ 30 Mopars in his collection that he showed me after the test drive.

Then I got the e-mail a few hours later that we are all being cut back to a 24 (3 day) work week due to the pandemic.

So maybe a good time to buy as long as you are not worried about your income or job...
