Hi guys, does anyone have some decent pictures showing the BUCKET SEAT hardware for headrests being installed on a 68/69 A or B body seat?

I searched the site and found some bench seat hardware being installed but the bucket seat hardware is different.

Looking forward to some pictures....thanks guys!

Just going through this on my Bee. Converted from bench. Found some seats from a 68 Coronet that didn't come with the headrests. The kits for some reason don't come with the mounting hardware. I ended up making the holes in the seat backs a bit bigger and using 8-32 screws and nylock nuts. The metal spring clips all needed their holes elongated to allow them to move up so they would lock into the poles. I also had to do some filing on the big holes on one of the backs to get everything to fit nice.

I just added headrest to my 68 Charger seats 2 years ago. I could not find any pics either. Once you get the seat back cover and foam off it is pretty self explanatory. I replace all my foam at the same time so did not have time to take pics. You will need to buy your own screws for hardware. I just used sheet metal screws I already had. All holes were already in the seat backs. Test fit headrest before putting cover back on and do not try to cut seat covers until fully hog ringed down. I would say both sides took me about an hour each.

Perfect! This gives me a better idea what I’m about to get into. Thank you for posting.

Where did you pick up the head rest kit? Thinking about adding headrest’s myself

Believe it or not, but the cheapest I found at the time I ordered was at Year One.

I installed rests on my '63 buckets finding most of what I needed on ebay for pretty cheap; I might have been lucky on the late 60's headrests I found for under a 100 bucks shipped. Added a bracket inside the seat back to hold the posts in place similar to what is photo'd above. The hardware set for the posts I got for around $25 on ebay.

I needed headrests at the advice of my surgeon as I had a partial neck fusion. He said a whiplash injury could be very bad for me. I started hunting for later buckets as my era buckets of course never had them. After finding a lot of pros and cons, size, costs, etc. got the brainstorm of adding them to my seats finding headrests and hardware on ebay as I posted earlier. While I had concerns about the seat back height being a smiggin lower than later 60's this ended up not being a game breaker for me and all done for under 200 bucks. Posted couple pics of my seats before (starting to size up the rests I bought) and after while I was still restoing my car.

Seems like you did very well. Just a single headrest is going for 200 on Ebay. YearOne hardware kit is 150. Appreciate the info. I gotta start digging, lol

One of those rare occasions when ya get lucky...right time right place! They were like brand new and a shame color didn't match. While I thought the rests were a nice price didn't realize just how nice until doing more checking.

Are these pieces for the headrest installation correct? I assume the one on the right goes on the bottom and is the lower stop for the headrest. I don’t have my headrests yet to check. Once installed do the headrest go all the way down to the top of the seats?

I am asking because I was surprised when I opened the package and all of them didn’t have the large hole.
