For sale; 1967 Plymouth Satellite, original 383 auto car! Comes with 440, 4speed and completely rebuilt 4:10 Dana, many extras included! My car has been in a heated garage since 1985, which has kept the bucket seat/ console interior in beautiful condition considering the age! The entire front end is fresh with all Moog components! The underside was totally rust free, was sandblasted, undercoated and shot gloss black in 86! There's a lot of sellable extras ( if need be ) that come with car!

I looked at your post, I can't go much further as I don't do Facebook, but I agree the project is worth the money. Condition of engine and transmission wasn't stated, just that the front suspension is done. Another question is what year Dana, there isn't a good enough picture to tell if it's a converted truck unit or not. Looks like extensive quarter work needed. If the extras are listed I cannot see them. It's quite a hike for me. I have my doubts about the underside being completely rust free, looking at the passenger quarter. I would think outer wheel houses and trunk drops too, and as you know quality parts aren't available. Note that it's a Satellite so end value is not going to be in the GTX range. To part out, a lot of work in disassembly and packaging for shipping, but some money can be made in that direction.

looks like someone bailed on a decent project

common story

'sometimes', it's the best way to buy

The part of the chassis being undercoated would turn me away.

I inquired on a 67 Charger 4 years ago. Owner said it was free , and a 12 hour drive to look at it. Well from the time I talked to him to going to look at it. There put so much undercoat on. It was dripping on his garage floor when I pulled up to his driveway. Problem was he didnt fill the rust holes under neath.

Keep in mind:
All the odds and ends to finish it add up change from auto to standard.
And it needs paint and body work.
Who knows about the motor.
But a 67 Satellite with a console is a very nice car.
My brothers really nice:

Man, the 66-67's just don't bring much money.....ask me how I know and it's even worse in the Houston area and all Mopar brands don't get much love here. Been that way since I can remember. And don't beat anyone in a Chevy because they are ready to fight if they got beat by a Mopar! It was that way in the 70's for sure lol

The repainted or rebuilt engine does not look like a 440... My old eyes don't see the large flat pad to the right of the distributor looks like a low deck engine.. Love the valve covers as I use them lots of room for rocker clearance... Interior looks like GTX/Sport Satellite interior and in great shape..

true enough. I had a chance to obtain a 67 GTX about 6 years ago. I knew the owners dad that bought it new. 12000 was the asking price for a good driving car. But it required rust repairs on the hind quarters and those aftermarket panels were always to short to make work properly. So I passed on that alone. Open it up and create more work.

IMO looking at the car how solid the fenders, doors, rockers, firewall and hood hinge area. I don't think it is a bad project and the price is fair. A good metal guy can work with those quarters and wheel houses..

Just gotta go look at it in person and see what's what. The Dana alone is worth some bucks especially if it's been rebuilt.....

People down there are for the most part anti Mopar ? Weird, most people I’ve come across in general like Mopars. Regardless, what they like most.

Oh man, the Mopar brethren here is small and most of us know about each other. It's nuts but the Mopar guys here are all usually all Mopar or no car!

Same here Cranky. The GM folks speak and continue walking and a couple of the Ford guys will stop and talk for a little. The few Mopar guys come around pull up chairs and discuss everything from Mopars to families and politics. Great group but small.

Funny thing about Mopar guys. I met two guys recently for the first time nearby. One a 69 RR convertible and another a 69 GTX guy. They both invited me to their homes to discuss Mopar stuff and show off their rides after they met me. That’s exactly what I did. Never met either one of them a day in my life. I say this, because in general people today don’t trust strangers one bit. It’s a weird bond, I guess. Lol !
The Roadrunner guy, chased me down on foot in his neighborhood. No exaggeration. An older gentleman (late 50’s) running like a 16 year old. Hoping to catch me, when I drove by when he heard my car. Well he did, demanded I turned around and headed toward his house. Lol ! He was running after me like I stole something. I was actually scared for a minute, lol ! A very cool experience. We talked for an hour. He taught me a few things I didn’t know about these cars. Good time. Since then, I passed his place. Only for him to chase me down and come up behind me at a stop sign nearby. Revving his engine behind me.,Ha ha.

Does anyone else think a 383 automatic with manual steering is unusual?
Original you think?

I’m not an expert. But, I wouldn’t think it would be unusual in a mid to late 60’s car. From my understanding, power steering wasnt introduced until 69 models. Check your casting numbers on your engine to see if it matches your car model. Maybe, someone installed the 383 in a mid 60’s car that originally came manual steering. Not all big block cars were sticks. You can also check the tranny serial number on the driver side of the pan rail. There’s info online that will tell you what exactly what year car that tranny was installed in based on that number. You can easily piece the info together to determine the originality of all the mechanical items being correct or not. You can also check the numbers stamped on the heads beside the rockers to determine if you have a matching engine. All this can be found on line. You just have to dig for a few minutes.

It wasn't a general question it's about the car in this thread.

I have 2 66's with 383's automatics. Both power steering. We had a 66 Newport 383, power steering.
My brothers 67 Satellite 383 automatic power steering.
I just seems like a big block and automatic transmission almost always have power steering.

Do I know you???? You sound familiar???....

7.5K is a LOT for a rusty quartered 383 Satellite.

Are there receipts for engine and suspension work totaling close to or more than that amount?

NO such animal as "Sport Satellite" in 67.

PS was available WAY before 69.
