well lets get to posting all the home remedies from when you were a kid remember vicks in boiling water with a towel over your head ,also Vicks in a spoon over a stove then drinking it ,mustard packs on our backs and chest with a flannel covering it ,peeper corns clove oil and many more we all lived **** cod liver oil

There was a discussion on here a few weeks ago about people drinking Turpentine years ago. I was looking through Ebay the other day for old items from my hometown and found this from an old drugstore that has been out of business since the 60's.

My step father swore by "Creoturpine". It was some very old but, still available cough medicine. God awful stuff. Other than that it was the usual....vicks on the chest and nose.
 
Always given hot lemonade with whiskey in it. Then had to cover up with blankets to sweat it out.
 
Now I just skip the lemonade and get the whiskey out because I might cut my figure or maybe feel a sore throat coming on. Prevention is a great way of staying well. Lol

According to dr Jennifer Daniels, it treats a LOT more than the common cold. Parasites in your digestive tract eat the sugar. The turp kills them.

The only remedy I remember is STOP YOUR DAMN CRYING or I will give you something to cry about.
 
Vicks and cod liver oil, damn God awful stuff! 440'
 
jump up and down on one leg to get water out of your ear!
shot of honey and milk in the morning for ulsers
mustard plaster on chest for a cold
hair of the dog for hangover
wash your face with fab detergent to dry up pimples
teabags on your eyes
hemoroid cream for eye bags
varsol in tub to take paint off [ Don't try this at home,, or anywhere!
 
My great uncle had bees so he would have a table spoon of honey after every meal. He said it cures everything. I use it for coughs
 
My grandmother....made Kerosine Candy. Molasses, sugar...like taffy then Kerosine added at the end. For sore throats. Lol.
