Team,

400sforever started a good thread discussing the issues he had with a supplier and ordering. I wanted to try and bring that thread to the correct corner of the forum and add that I am not advocating stopping orders for your cars. I myself need to get a ton of stuff for the MN Gold project, but cannot afford to lay out a bunch of cash to any supplier who is not honest about how long it's going to sit on that money. Many of these suppliers are not net-30, and do not carry large inventories to meet custom order or even day to day. Summit and JEGs ect do have massive warehouses and tons o on hand product....but also have to farm out stuff to intermediaries just like a lot of the small guys.....but they have cash on hand to refund and often do tell you that they are on back order.....and for how long. Just keep in mind that if a business lays off its folks and is in this holding pattern, they may not be able to refund you.....or give you updates on orders placed on your behalf. ****Trust but verify******

I've been open for fourteen years May 31 and will be damned if some virus is going to kick my *** and send me back to working for law firms.

You guys are too much fun.

Great message! I wonder how many businesses especially the mom and pop's will survive (aside from possibly snagging the virus) to open their doors again. As one who helps companies with their risk management plans both disaster planning and recovery, this thing is a different animal entirely and pretty much has spared few. When will we see stadiums packed full of fans again and how many will want to go to a ball game again when this passes? This has forced a lot of new habits and have to fear shaking hands or maybe giving a hug to a good friend or relative (those you might like lol). Go figure as the brick and mortar places have been dying off anyway due to online shopping and kids playing video games rather than outside playing with their friends our world is evolving to a new existence I don't like to see as an aging boomer. Well I'm on the other side of the curve of life having to think about this more and ain't no fun.

It's perspective. COVID-19 is new, and sudden. The flu season and COVID-19 season will have patterns and people will need to inoculate and many will become immune. The herd will protect many others, but what makes this threat different and challenging is the contagion factor and speed it can spread. Asia and wet markets are too difficult to weed out in a global world order. It's going to need correcting. China is going to need to get used to having its folks screened forever.

And ahh...they're back to their friggin weird wild animal market again in wuhan? WTF, these people still want to eat this stuff? Keep that under lockdown for...forever...

I just bought a hardware kit for the El Camino bed from the Classic Chevy parts store up the road. I had to call it in and pick up at the curb. I told the guy I was beginning to like their curbside service and just might get used to it.

Curb side service is pretty handy. Went to the DMV here and didn't leave my car.
I almost ordered from Classic Industries today until I saw a post on another thread by Durandal25. Looked at the top of Classic's website and saw that they are closed. Thanks. Saved me some grief.

Hmmm... reminds me of a gal I dated in HS where she liked to inflict pain during messing around! I stopped, thinking OK she ain't interested in playing around; but then said "Keep going I like the sound of you saying ouch." Glad she didn't have some pointy objects in my backseat handy to stick under my finger nails or up my ***! It was a rather brief relationship before she left some permanent scars. She ended up marrying a buddy and they got divorced...he hasn't been seen though in decades.

Check out Moparts from Beaverton Ontario Canada good people good prices too

I just ordered a water temp gauge from Amazon. They usually ship in 2 days free since I am a Prime member. The shipping detail said item will arrive by April 24, 21 days from now. I don't actually need it before then but I am paying extra every year for free expedited shipping. :(

Yep I ordered from Summit and received all but my AMD valve covers. Waiting for email saying they have been shipped.

What I think is gross is ordering used car parts from someone & when it arrives and I open the box, the stench of old cigarette smoke smacks me in the nose.
