MOPAR Cylinder Head Issue

Hi. I hope someone can help with this question.

I just acquired 2 cylinder heads that are supposed to be ready to go/bolt on. It seems like something is 'off' in the seats or the valves. The spring heights are not consistent. Are they usable this way or do they need to go to a machine shop? Please see pics below. Thank you!

They are to be all same height if to long or short geometry and lash is wrong
 
The installed height of the valves is wrong.

There is no lash right now because there are no rocker arms.

That straight edge is not measuring geometry either.

Geometry is the rocker arm tip to the valve stem relationship. Can be wrong because the guides are not machined straight, or a problem with the rocker arm or their mounting/pivots.
 
You'll need adjustable rockers and the proper length pushrods to run those heads. Do you know what work was performed on them they look fresh? 440'
 
The intakes are probably too deep because the seats have been machined a time or two. The exhaust have new seats. I would check the installed height of the exhaust, and if they are correct, then perhaps look at slighty larger intake valves, and have them fitted correctly. Just a thought.
 
While we all prefer to have all the valve stem heights match the fact is there is a range that Chrysler shows as acceptable.... Notice in the picture there is a minimum & maximum measurement....

Those seats dont look all that hot to me. The intake seats might be sunk in the head bence the stem height difference. I would have them checked out by a good shop. I'm sure PRH can guide you in the correct direction. He did mine a few yrs ago and I cant be happier , He knows his stuff, there are others here that are knowledgeable as well.

I'm not going to sugar coat it. I see a piss poor valve job in the pictures sunken valve seat. The guides also need checked and corrected or replaced if necessary. 1 wild R/T has it right, there is a minimum and maximum amount. My first concern would be to have all the valve seats correct. And no I would not run them as is even if I had adjustable rockers.
 
Welcome from Alabama, sorry for such a negative comment on your first post. You said you just acquired these heads, and if you have the ability to take them back and have your money returned I would look at that option. Otherwise I would find a good machine shop and get a estimate on proper repairs. There are a lot of good options in aluminum heads, but I'm not that guy. If you're staying in the stock or mildly modified engine range the iron heads are great. Sometimes I get a little blunt. Welcome aboard.

Heads have 2.080 Intake Valves 1.740 Exhaust Valves All Stainless Steel 1 Piece Swirled Polished Valves. All new Cast Iron Valves Guides Custom 3 Angle Valve Job Cut for Positive Type Valve Seals installed. New Valve Springs and Retainers, Keepers 8 Exhaust Harden Valve Seats installed.
 
I sorry but for me I want a guy like Jerry so I dont ruin my engine. I like being real,we all get taken for a ride on parts. Hope you get it worked out.

I notice that they are closed chamber heads, what are the part numbers? Do they end in 915 or 516? If they are 915's in my opinion they are worth the money to have done right. With that much work already done, you may just need a few seats replaced to get everything right. Again my opinion.

They look sketchy to me, but I'm no expert.

I think the first thing you ought to do is simply disassemble and measure the valves. Then you'll know right off if they're different sizes or if it's sunken valve seats causing the mismatch.
 
Those heads aren’t the end of the world. Assuming the guides are good, I’d be more concerned with the quality of the valve job and if the seat is in the correct location on the valve. It looks like it has a slight bowl cut but without seeing them in person, hard to say how good any of it is.
