I'm all for following the guidelines of social distancing, washing hands, etc, in an effort to stop the spread of corona crap. Though some things i see seem pointless, and other measures ignorant. Today i went to my local grocery store. They have x's on the floor for customers in line to reference, for the 6 foot distance. They had installed plexiglass panels at face level between the customer lane & the cashiers space. Standing in the cashiers space, right next to him, were two other loafing cashiers, and a bag boy. All four in one small space, gabbing. I also saw that they now have zip loc bags draped over the card machines. You're either touching the buttons, or you're touching the bag. What's the difference ? My fear is that the issue of touching the card machine will be the precursor of the implanted chip, or mark of the beast. :(

yep some of them measures seem senseless or lame
some get a false sense of security maybe

man I hope this **** passes sooner than latter

stay safe people, stay healthy

it'll be nice
when we could talk about something other
than Covid-19, fears, wrongs, rights & utter stupidity

Its not. Also, i asked the cashier what was the point, if everyone touches it. His reply was, idk, it's above my pay grade.
Our stores are wiping the belt and area down between every customer. The ziplock bag is easier to wipe down than keys on the machine. I have no personal experience as the last time we got groceries was 3 weeks ago.. and checking stock today, other than milk, bread and beer we're good for a month. Might be time to milk a squirrel and start building a still..

Pointless, "feel good" measures.
Like a condom with holes in it, training wheels made of cardboard or participation trophies...

Yeah I saw a guy today wearing rubber gloves at the gas pump but he was holding his phone and texting with it and then he didnt take the gloves off and got in his car and drove off still wearing the gloves he touched everything at the pump with.I just shook my head and laughed.

I think if they clean the card machine a hundred times a day, the numbers will come off.
Do they clean the bag after every use?

Lol, caution & ignorance.

A lot of it is that they are seen to be doing the right thing. Nobody really knows how to deal with this. It sounds like your local store is doing the right thing with most of their practices, but are failing at others. Its exactly the same with my local.

Yes the "gloves" thing is very prominent here too. …. so they get left on all day, touch everything, ya that's safe

There is not a TikTok video to tell them the proper use.

get used to it, this thing is gonna get recirculated several times, only takes one cow to re infect the herd.

I have a bottle of hand sanitizer in the truck. Open the door a sanitize before getting in. Touch nothing that doesn't need to be touched and if you need to always use the same hand. A little common since will go a long way.

I'm 66 and I used to work at Nuke sites. I wear nitrile gloves when I get out of my vehicle
at the store. I get a cart and go in. I get what I want and get out. I don't shop. I know what
I want before I go in. I thank the people who are helping me and I leave. I take my groceries to
the car and park the cart. I take my gloves off the correct way and then open my car and deposit them
in my trash can. This **** is contamination just like in a nuke plant. I don't want to die. I want to
finish my project before I die! I hope everyone here does the same!

I was at a Burger King drive up window. They had a plastic tray lined with a plastic bag and the cashier was wearing gloves. Only problem was I glanced in my rearview mirror and saw the girl behind me biting her nails like she was eating corn on the cobb. I'm glad she wasn't in front of me.

I understand the stupidity with hygiene measures. It's more of a feel good thing for most people. They think wearing a mask, but using a card machine is safe. To each their own... worry about yourself.

What I don't understand is how nobody is outraged by curfews and cut hours. This actually makes things worse. Nothing has been done to curb demand. So your servicing the same number of people in less time.
