with them all at home all the time, how long for people to realize that sometimes children need discipline:poke:

A smack on the backside never did me any harm. If a child doesn’t learn respect at an early age then they’re not likely to have much as an adult.

I coped "6 of the best", just about every day that I went to high school. the belt when I was at home and I turned out alright
three great kids and 3 grandkids what more could you want :)

My ole lady used to keep a strap of leather about 1” x 1/4”, or somewheres around that. Used to hang off the pantry door. You just had to get threatened with it to pull your head back in. :D Single mum with eight kids. You didn’t muck around for too long before you got it.:)

I was raised by Catholic Nuns and I've never been to prison! Knuckles look like **** though>

My dad pulled his belt on me when I was young. I wised up quick. If he even touched his belt I shut up and hastily went to my room. It taught me respect.

Teachers and principals could paddle kids in Oklahoma up through 9th grade. It would have been pandemonium otherwise.

Being a Military brat I saw discipline programs at various schools... (personally at times) In Turkey a 12-13 year old boy made the mistake of insulting the local cultures teacher... He took the kid outside & beat the **** out of him... Don't piss off the teacher....

My old man - you just didn’t mess with. He never missed an opportunity to whip the shirt out of us boys. I’d say it taught most of respect. For me I resented it. But had respect for my elders from birth. You need discipline as a kid or else...

When I was in 7-8 grade, the teachers (most of them) had paddles and would deliver "swats" to whom ever fucked up. These were administered in front of the entire class whit the offending party grabbing their ankles for good targeting by the teacher. I will never forget "Mr Yocum" He had the largest paddle into which he had drilled holes so he could swing it faster. A ******* pervert sadomasochist is what he was but you only had to witness ONE paddling before you NEVER fucked up in his class!!! Could you imagine the uproar now days?????

Discipline is one thing a good majority of the kids and their parents don't have today.
The trickle down theory went out the window when it comes to this topic

Funny, I had a Mr. Yocum as a PE Coach/Teacher, he used to use a size 14 Chuck Taylor as a paddle. I wonder if they're related?

Both my kids were intimately familiar with the ridged position of “Attention”. If they were fighting I would put them back to back in the middle of the living room for 2 minutes. If they grab assed I would tack on additional minutes. As they got older they became well versed in pushups. I even introduced my son to the Chinese Thinking Postion.

I went through the discipline years while in school. Principal was allowed to spank you without any permission from your parents. Then he sent a note home and Mom read it, you got spanked again. Then Dad gets home, hears the news and he spanked you again. You had a pretty sore arss by the end if the day!

The thing I learned raising my own two, boy and a girl, is that spankings only work up to a certain age. Then when it doesn't seem to take effect anymore start taking away privileges. Man, taking the phone away from my daughter was like cutting off her right arm. :D

Only had to actually spank my son once when he was about 5, after that the mere threat of it was all I needed. My daughter only needed to be scolded and that sorted her out; both turned out awesome.
