Found this today
Brings back memories...I had a 400 in one, and the second time around, I bought one with a 440. Rallye package, bulge hood with pins, exhaust tips, same top banana with black striping on both. One was a console and one was a column auto. Wow, nice find.Found this today View attachment 932229
Nice. Is that a N.M. plate? I have a gold 440 mag. Rally I picked up in HobbsFound this today View attachment 932229
My project car is like the yellow car, has the big golly whopper rear bumper guards but none on the front....did they come that way or did a PO just remove them. Also, on a factory black car, what color was the side stripe, did one have a choice of colors. This project car looks in better shape than many....
Cool car.bumper guards were sure removed.
on 73 just black as solid color and red phasered ( reflective ).
a black car on 73 should have got the red phasered

on 74 the stripes option was widened to copper and gold, both phasered and reflective. Still the black as only solid color available, and the same red phasered too
Black car on 74 could have got the copper too... dunno if also the gold one
I took care of the bumpers that stick out, and the big ugly bumper guards on my 73. I put a 71 Charger rear bumper and R / T taillights with the dual exhaust rear valence pan. I put the hidden headlight grille from a 71 Charger on mine and slotted the front bumper brackets to tuck the bumper in.My project car is like the yellow car, has the big golly whopper rear bumper guards but none on the front....did they come that way or did a PO just remove them. Cool car.
Nacho, Pics are from the 73 and 74 color/trim dealer albums.

I like the 71/72 bumper guards A LOT more than the 73/74, but is true the 74s on my car already saved my tail lights from an idiot driving a Phord Maverick who "kissed my ***" once LOL. 71/72s weren't able to do itI took care of the bumpers that stick out, and the big ugly bumper guards on my 73. It looks to me like this particular car was originally gold and at some point, someone poorly masked off what is supposed to be the stripe. And painted the rest of the car black. The passenger side was probably facing the sun and is faded? Whatayathink?and without try to highjack the thread ( even more ) but the topic floated on... post your opinions about this car and the stripeSSSS on it
Note is a 73! not 74!

maybe a later add? ( left front fender stripe seems to be not aligned ) ok, that could be... but the color ? Yellowed parchment or gold ?.
next... have you noticed the DECK LID? Decal? there was not deck lid decals for gradated stripes
EDITING!!! SORRY IT'S A 74!!! but maybe missed shoulder seatbelts so it could born with that stripe from factory. Left fender could got a paint job and the replacement stripe not correctly fit
Nice looking car, hope he gets a chance to do it.Yes it is a NM car. His brother bought it new in Hatch. Needs alot but he is determined to get it going. Sitting behind his trailer about 30 miles from Palomas.
Optional on 74s for all models, not in 73 thoughtNacho, I was under the impression that the Rallye stripe or package was not available on the “SE”
Correct me if I am wrong regarding the car with the gold stripe that as pointed out, was likely the original color of the car.
