So bored and laid off. Racecar is ready to go so I've been working on my wife's "garden truck". The glove box like many was beat. 1967 Jeep Gladiator parts are priced according to demand. A new glove box liner was about $70 shipped. Well how hard can it be? Picked up a sheet of 1/8 board from the upholstery shop a while back when I redid door panels. Follow along. Pry the staples up so you can cut the heads. That way you can disassemble what's left by pushing the staples inward. Lay it out unfolded and trace. One side was so damaged the other side was measured to fabricate the shape.

After its laid out you can score the bend lines. Use a box cutter with a brand new blade. Score on the outside of the bend. Now cut it out. Lay scrap cardboard beneath so the blade doesn't get dull when it breaks through. Clamp a couple of boards together so you can make a nice sharp crease at the bend. Get your stapler out. 3/8" works perfect. Back it up with wood underneath. When you staple it will stick right into the wood. Gently pry it off the wood and fold the exposed staple over just like factory. When is all assembled I ran hot glue down the scored seems for extra protection against rips.

Nice. And I bet it fits better than the pos reproduced ones.

A work of art, or Doug as it maybe. Looks great, saved a buck and ended up with a better glove box in the deal.

This is the truck. Working on making everything work. Just finished fixing everything in the cluster. Worked on the motor, brakes, front axle last winter. The paint isnt great. But it's my wife's driver in the summer. Shes loves to garden. The box comes in handy.

I'm not surprised Doug, all your fabrication looks great!

Does that in-bed fuel cell have some kind of quick disconnect so the bed dump can be used? Nice rig, BTW...

The tank is in the front of the bed. Its the black box in the picture. Flexible line at the pivot area. The hydraulic lift pump takes the place of the original tank. This was a dealer installed option.

Cool...thanks for the explanation!

Thanks Doug! Me, I'm "careful" with money so this kind of stuff is right up my alley.
This should get 'sticky' status.

Impressive Luke.....you have grown strong with the force.

Dang ! I should have never thrown my old liner away...:BangHead:
