First Mopar, No-Spark Issue (Among Other Problems)

Any updates? Are you sure the motor is getting fuel?
I put a new resistor in and the car started right up. No long cranking or pumping extra gas. I was hopeful for a while. Unfortunately, just as before, after warming up the car shut off. The car will crank no problem but won't start. Crank it long enough and you can smell fuel.

So, the engine definitely appears to be getting fuel. The carb is crusty from sitting in a barn but seems to be working just fine. I put 5 gallons in the tank a few days ago and I doubt I burned through it all just by idling for a combined time of maybe an hour.

I did notice a couple odd things when I replaced the resistor, though. For one, the car has two plugs that fit to the chrome ECU. Is that normal? Both have 5 pins and 5 wires. They appear exactly the same except one is plugged in and the other is just dangling. Also, from what I've read, a 5 pin ECU should use a 4 pin ballast. The one in the car is a two pin. I also read that you could use a 2 pin if you splice the wires on either end together. It looks like someone spliced the wires on one end but not the other, so there's one wire that has no connection. I would think that would be a problem.
