I have new complete quarter panels , fenders and doors. I've started drilling the spot welds out of the qp wow there's a lot of them. I also have a lift off hood. My 440 block has been sonic tested and bored , just don't know if I want to go high compresion n/a or lower comp f/i

It's been a good while since I have been able to do anything .i was diagnosed with brain cancer but I have started working on my car again. It has just went to the body shop and is getting new floors front to rear bumper, full quarter panels, food and fender. I am going to build a fuel injected super charged 440 with trick flow heads. I am also going to run a 727 with gear vendors overdrive. Can someone please tell me what is the widest tire I can run on the rear with relocated leaf springs and lowering blocks. I plan on 18 to 20 inch wheels. Thanks Mark

If you have tubbed it with 90* sided tubs, and cut out the outer inside wheel well that curves inward you can get a 15" section width tire under there while dropping the car down over it. With just a mini tub with stock proportions you can get the same tire under there but only drop the car so far.... That's 13 1/2" of tread width. Depending on how high up your tubs are I see no reason a 20" rim and tire would not fit under there. Need the correct backspacing though .

The foregoing is with the assumption that the RR and the 67 Coronet wheel wells are the same. I have moved my springs inboard and measured from the inside of the lip to the frame and it's 15 1/2". So precise backspacing and perhaps rolling the wheel well lip in for another 1/4" or whatever...

Thanks ghost rider. I don't plan to tub it out

Glad to hear you are doing better. Cancer sucks. Glad you are getting some quality time with your car. Good luck with it.

Welcome from Missouri!!

In which case I would guess an old L-60-15 would be the tops. Like 11 1/2" tread?
Hey ghost rider. If I were to put mini tubs in how would the trunk hinges work ? Sorry about my ignorance on this . I've never seen one .thanks Mark

They work the same. What changes is the tab that is spot welded to the tub gets bent inwards towards the center of the trunk and re welded to the side of the mini tub. The hanger that holds the torsion bars for the lid stays in place. the mini tub kit comes with two strips of steel that are cut to fit in-between the outer tub and the inner once you cut it free along a line that you will get from the kit. separate the halves and weld in the strip, weld the inner halve tub base back onto the trunk floor and axle hump and rear seat ends and you got it. My trunk lid is on gas lifts so I don't have the torsion bars any longer.
