Quick question, what's everyone's thoughts or experiences with adding a outside side mirror to the passenger side? Seems like a good idea for true street driving and safety.

1964 Plymouth Belvedere 2dr sedan

I've never seen a 64 with dual mirrors! But it's your car do what fits your needs! An original dual post mirror will work for that!

I have been thinking of doing the same with my 64 Fury. I have a nice original mirror to match the driver side. But I would want to measure the mounting holes to make sure the mirrors matched on both sides. However, I would first have someone hold it in position. if the vent window frame obstructs the view, it may be necessary to move the passenger side one a bit. (I have not actually tried this yet, but I do tend to worry about details.) And, for what it's worth, I have convex spot mirrors on the passenger sides of all my daily drivers to make lane changes easier and safer. I would probably put a 3 or 4 inch stick on spot mirror on the passenger mirror when I install it...
Also, I don't think these are just put on with sheet metal screws. Pretty sure there is a reinforcement to be put inside the door as well.

1963 close enough?

Dual mirrors look good but the right one is pretty decorative and not too functional. I put one on my 66 Dart and it helps a little to see what's behind you on that side.

I have dual mirrors on my '65, and the passenger mirror is worthless in the factory location. in addition it is not a very big mirror to actually see much. My car had both mirrors from the factory and I like the look, that's why I kept them both. my 2 cents...

Exactly. I would like to try a stick on spot mirror just to see if it works better.

I put one on my 65 coronet because I personally like them on both sides and they are worthless unless you buy a "Eyeball" Mirror the same size as the side mirror. It helps backing in my garage, but, factory location sucks for serous use.

There is no plate inside the door for the mirror It's just screwed on!

I toyed with this on my '63 Fury and found I couldn't see it if mounting it to match the location of the left placement. Using a mirror with a longer post to elevate the mirror would work; but then looks weird. If moving it way out on the fender it becomes functional but again weird looking. Seem to recall a few late 50's mopars had a right mirror out on the fender? I hadn't thought of a convex mirror as posted, though as I recall the mirror just sat too low given the body contour. And for the mounting, yep, just oval head chrome sheet metal screws and I had to go to a larger one on one hole recently as it was stripped out.

They are screw directly to the door there is no plate underneath take a piece of heavy envelope line it up with your driver side door marked your holes remember top and bottom take it to the other side flip it upside down and throw your holes they will match
