The grocery store is open. So is McDonald's, Taco Bell, and Auto Zone. Working on little projects. Hell, I'm fine.

Yeah....
I'm still working. Auto parts stores and junkyards are still open. Less traffic on the road is nice.

I’m still working, wife has to as front line caregiver. The whole vibe had changed, though. Everyone is nervous. We all just want to get through this.
One of wife’s coworkers died of cancer this afternoon. Late thirties, two young kids. Got cancer same time as wife, wife survived, coworker didn’t. There’s much other heartbreak besides Coronavirus, yet it dominates. Nobody can comfort her family, nobody could visit her before she died. It just sucks.

you know with this issue happening.. My son said.. this is our Present history happening for the future generation to look back on.. its a wide scale event that we hope does not happen again.. were fine here.. were just following the rules that were set as best as possible.. my wife works in the medical field.. so her hours have been altered.. my son was laid off due to lack of work and to many folks in a close enviroment.. Ive been working every day in the essential services as allowed ,..

Fine as in fine, or fine as in "f**ked up, insecure, neurotic and emotional"?

Im here in dirty jersey where a little at a time our civil libertys are being taken from us in the name of protecting us from our selves...yeah all the vomit take out restaurants are still open but I don't go to them any time anyway....This kind of thing should NEVER happen EVER again, but stupid is as stupid does and the world will go back to china for cheap **** after is over and forget the damage done. People get sick and die every day, that's just a fact of life. But this was something that should have never been. that said my life will never be the same again....don't fool yourself no ones will

Anybody that thinks this is a joke? Watch the Smithsonian channels story on the Spanish Flu during 1918. If you're not convinced by then?

For those of us fortunate enough to be only peeved about inconveniences, I see upcoming car shows in my area are cancelled - that'll feel weird as I start getting my car ready for seeing daylight again. I could cruise around though to hunt for toilet paper. Evidently this pandemic has caused some to grow a 2nd asshole as the store shelves are still always empty. With social distancing when might it ever be possible to crowd into ball parks and stadiums...maybe they will take out seats to maintain a 6-foot distance...har-har.

Rings a bell... this are pics from 1918, during the Spanish flu, one is from a news paper in Mexico, warning the society about the risks of the pandemic, and guess what else, yes social distance, the use of masks, no reunions, wash your hands constantly eat healthy, no alcohol and stay home, the same precautions we have today, not much of a progress during a pandemic 102 years later.

Agree, I hope most don't look at this as a joke as it's rather compelling seeing our front line folks overwhelmed and under-equipped despite incredible efforts to ramp up. And it should be evident as hospitals need refrigerated trailers parked out back to house the deceased for who knows how long before they can be laid to rest that our cooperation is vital..

I don't see it as a joke, but there is no real evidence of a pandemic around here. Unfortunately orders aren't coming in at work so next week might be our last for awhile.
Went to Wal-Mart last night; lots of toilet paper on the shelves. Eggs at Braums are $3.49 a dozen. All the staples are back in stock. Looks like the panic is subsiding.

Well lucky you. Dont get to complacent with the idea all is well.

Out here in sorta rural Tx we have only been to the grocery 3 times in the last 6 weeks I saw my first roll of TP yesterday it was one of three rolls No price was shown, we walked past as we still have TP, but picked up some paper napkins close as we have been to paper towels!!
Packing houses are beginning to shut down, wonder when all meat will be scarce!!! Price of live cattle and hogs keeps getting lower ever day. I feel for the producer!
Wife is R/E agent, an essential business! Ha So nothing happening in that. Everyone has stay at home orders. It is a feast or famine business anyway, out here in rural America, usually famine!!
Only business banks want right now, is stimulus loans!!!!!!! Wonder why!!!! lol
Planted the garden today. Give us a few months are well be eating our fill of tomato sandwiches, cucumber salad, squash or green bean casserole and fried okra etc et etc!!!!! lol

Wait until you are diagnosed with it, someone you know has. That will change how you feel about it. My Daughter works at Henry Ford Hospital as a medical assistant. She was diagnosed positive from helping all of the patents that have it. This is some serious **** no matter where you are located.

Our prayers are with your daughter and family, yes this is very real here in the motor city

There are some in the media who are saying the covid seems overrated as the numbers/estimates of deaths have been lowered recently. Hmm, could it be due to the safer-at-home directives...hand washing, etc. etc. most have been cooperating with? As we've yet to enter the actual predicted dire state of this across the country, we could pray they're right and hope they are. Except, I hope they don't want us to dump the protective practices. Considering the extreme measures most have taken we still see incredible spread of this virus which should ahh indicate without the actions, the number of deaths could be 10 times or more higher. 6PKRTSE - all the very best wishes for your daughter!
