Aside from the change of bench to bucket seats and adding a console and slapstick shifter, has anyone done this swap before. If so do you have the list of parts needed?

Just completed the same job. You have to replace the top collar and remove the inner shift tube from your existing column. You need only the top part!

From what I remember need the floor shift mount that bolts onto the tailshaft it's what he shifter linkage pivots off of, usually their are a couple brackets you have to weld to the floorpan, one for the shifter and one in the front of the console. Make a hole for the shifter linkage and get rid of the column shifter collar, some console cars have a lockout for the key that differ from the column shift??? Been a couple decades since I did the switch Lol

1968rt, do the parts from the column shift swap into the new collar? I'm guessing some parts are different, especially because of that finger lever to remove the key. I'm planning to do this to my 74.

Sorry thought you had the brackets already! Also the shifter mechanism and linkage

The columns are basically the same you need to change the end colours and remove the shifter bar ! It's fairly straightforward but finding the colours separate is hard no one will split a coumn up

I found it easier to buy the brackets new and just weld them in. Trying to grind off the originals can be a bitch!

That lever will remain, just the gear selection area will change. remove the shifter tube.

I actually dont remember, but AMD, Summit, Jegs all sell them for $169

I'm selling the complete shifter assy with rods and brackets for $150 not hard to grind a few spot welds !
