It felt a little like the "Bird Box" movie

Yesterday I went out for a while. Had to make a trip in to Phoenix to see a machinist about some engine parts. It was a 40 minute drive to his place. What was so weird was, very little traffic on the roads. People were not out like usual. In the neighborhoods there were some people out for a walk or bike ride, same here in my city. Just no one in groups.

I started to get this feeling like it is dangerous being out here. Almost like the wind, and the world wants to kill me. It was a beautiful day, partly cloudy, light breeze, in the 70's. It just felt so weird, and maybe dangerous, to be outside.

Yea I live in the Atlanta area and it was weird going to work one day last week. Usually due to traffic it can take almost an hour to get to the job. But with no traffic and basically a ghost town that trip now takes 30 minutes with a stop for coffee. Weird days we live in.

I took the 45 out of lock box for the first time in 12 years. It is dangerous, predators never sleep

Hey Paul, east side has been pretty much normal. Traffic on the 202 has been light which has been kinda nice.

Every Thursday I drive over th Goodyear to have lunch with some Mopar guys. The place we eat at does only take out so we pretty much eat on the patio. Our group sometimes has 20 for lunch however it’s been 4 or 5 the last several weeks. Oh, and it only took me 35 minutes to drive from Mesa to Goodyear.

Driving around here during the work week has been wonderful. No traffic at all, even going through Boston.

That's the feeling I get occasionally when I'm deep in the woods by my self. Carry a weapon, you'll feel better. I never felt like that when I was young. But now I'm somewhat crippled I feel kind of helpless sometimes.

I started carrying in my own home for the first time ever. The longer this goes on the more weird it feels. I agree with 25, predator's never sleep.

I don't grasp the "Bird Box" reference other than it being a movie.
I am sure that others would agree that the world would probably be better with fewer people BUT that is a selfish statement, right? Who chooses who gets to remain? Just about everyone that I know has some value as a person and I'd be sad to lose them.
Less traffic is nice though. It makes my desire to move to a more rural area even more appealing.

Riding in my Jeep was the safe place. Just like in the movie, keeping the mask on was the safe thing, you cant be hurt you as long as your eyes were closed. Just like the Virus cant hurt you if you stay to yourself. Inside my Jeep was safe, getting out around others, not so much.

we don't have all that much traffic here to begin with
we don't even have a freeway within about 100 miles

(well except flatlanders or part-timers, mid summer vacationers/tourists & holidays)

it does seem strange, when it's noon midday, reg. week workdays
& almost nobody out driving around

sort of ere

really peaceful actually
