This may not be the thread for this section and it may sound stupid or even naive, but I figured that many on here would have a solid answer to my question.
If for instance you are pulling a U-haul open car carrier /trailer with a truck from Michigan with Michigan plates to go pick up a race car in New York, will you stand the chance of being stopped and given a citation for driving through three states with the package under the social distance mandates? It just seems confusing since I understand the "distance" law to keep us safe, but is it violating the law being that you are in your vehicle and passing through?

Highway/state troopers, tow rig drivers please apply.

Thank you.

This is still America. No worries towing, but I would pack food - rest stops are a haven for virus transmission.

I live here in Mich.. and they have an executive order to stay home and we are only allowed to go to the grocery store, pickup prescriptions, get gas, and that is about it. I have not been out on any highways lately, and I know the fine(s) are steep. Also, the state rest areas are closed here, so are many restuarants, but you are your own person, so you can make your own decisions about your adventures. I just do not have 500-1000 dollars for a fine, but do your own homework first, and then decide. Good luck in whatever you decide. @Dodge33

Simply query the .gov websites for each state you will be in and ask them. Go to the State Police section and find out. Even make a few calls to sure. They will be glad to abuse (help) you...

Where in NY ? We're outside of Buffalo, and it's pretty laid back around here. 2 weeks ago, I met up with Rob, aka beatersrus, and we took a ride down to a junkyard near the PA border, No Problems at all. If your headed anywhere in Western NY, let me know, be glad to assist, or stop by for a beer, and something to eat...

GLSSA says we are racing May 2/3. I guess I'll see.

largest problem i have seen out and about is the lack of facilities,,after drinking coffee,,1 would usually stop at any fast food place to do the business. but they will not let u use the mens room. including parks etc,,i ended up going to home depot, stand in line, and rush in and out..packing food is easy,,,men can take care of business on the road easy, women on the other hand, not so easy, and the #2 thing.............................

Thank you fellas for the info and offers.
The car is in the belly of the beast (the city) under cloak and cover in a garage. I've looked at all three states between Michigan and there and the laws seem sketchy. I do have to go there for a in and out medical records/paperwork retrieval mission, but I was thinking that while I'm at it, I can fetch the car to have with me for a possible long stay here in Michigan.
Anyway, just thinking.

My guess is that unless you are speeding excessively, have a wreck or have a mechanical breakdown of some sort, the bastards have no reason to stop you.
Don't speed, don't have a wreck and make sure your rig is mechanically sound and you should have no problem in my opinion.

The cops are being strict here in Michigan. I was out in my Charger and got pulled over. I said I went to the auto parts store to get parts for my daily driver. Which I did. Had the parts in my car. I asked him does this look like a car I would drive daily? It was essential to fix my daily driver and I had to take this car to get the parts. He let me off with a warning and to not be out driving.

Didn't realize we had elected a communist leader....

It's not the big leader, it's the state leader. The big leader wants us back working and going.

Oh, trust me, I know that... Still feels like the Twilight Zone to me...

I drive everyday here in California & haven't seen or heard of anyone being hassled about it yet Michigan is.... Twilight Zone I'm telling ya...

You can always throw this in their face.. Did this in red white and blue..

"The right to travel is a part of the liberty of which the citizen cannot be deprived without due process of law under the Fifth Amendment." "The right to travel, to go from place to place as the means of transportation permit, is a natural right subject to the rights of others and to reasonable regulation under law

"...reasonable regulation under the law", is where they will get you. Under the law, the Governor has the authority to regulate literally anything under an emergency which this thing is declared to be. So, UNDER THE LAW, vote her skank Liberal Democrat narrow *** out of ******* office at the first opportunity. Easy.

No kidding, I've been driving the gtx around allot lately, and saw cops quite a few times and never been pulled over.

Law enforcement doesn't want exposure to the virus face mask or not.
Sure Police do not want to expose themselves either, but if they are summoned to give you a summons for non essential travel, they are going to give you just that, a summons.
I'm gonna look at this much closer and hopefully will hear back from cops themselves as to the actual conditions on the ground. Again different states have differing laws and levels of enforcement.
I just hope people are looking at the situation with a keen eye and also considering what is real info and what is not.
