sounds like maybe he forgot a zero ?
113 a ton for cars w motors
95 a ton for tin
137 a ton for short steel.
this is over in Western ny state,
hornell ny,one of my fav places.
while those numbers might seem good,in reality finding and Getting scrap cars,
and then processing them to make any kind of money still isnt worth doing atm.
neither is cutting up steel,for short or long,because of the expenses involved.
oxy,propane,etc.
most owners were still in that former scrap is worth a lot frame of mind till this virus thing hit.
so buying and restocking has been very very tough and Now these low payouts are killing us.
i would not be surprised after this is all over,to see the scrapping community reduced by half or more.
