Has anyone gotten a $1,200.00 check yet?

sounds like maybe he forgot a zero ?

113 a ton for cars w motors
95 a ton for tin
137 a ton for short steel.
this is over in Western ny state,
hornell ny,one of my fav places.

while those numbers might seem good,in reality finding and Getting scrap cars,
and then processing them to make any kind of money still isnt worth doing atm.

neither is cutting up steel, for short or long, because of the expenses involved.
oxy,propane,etc.

most owners were still in that former scrap is worth a lot frame of mind till this virus thing hit.
so buying and restocking has been very very tough and Now these low payouts are killing us.
i would not be surprised after this is all over,to see the scrapping community reduced by half or more.

That's what he thought at first also and said he just about dropped the phone when the guy confirmed it was $10. Was told nobody wants the metal right now. We both find it hard to believe. We only have 2 yards remotely near us and they are both saying the same thing.

i just went and looked at prices in your state.
not only are they way low,but their ideas of payouts are the worst ive ever seen.
it looks like you have an entire state of crooks there.
for example, catalytic convertors are paying 2.64 a lb??!!
when they are Supposed to be priced by the cat/car model they came off of and how much platinum they contain....
in some cases, the cat will pay More than the entire car weight/scrap will pay = Truth.
this is the yard taking advantage of people.

this is why i sell my vertors in a big load usually to an independant.
that way i get paid decent and theres still some meat on the bone for him.
and.....
they are only paying 3.74 for an alum wheel when that same wheel is worth 8 plus at least.
i sell mine wholesale for 8 apiece and my guy gets i think 12.

Got our $2400 China Virus check yesterday. I am going to splurge on a nice bottle of whiskey and donate the remainder to the Trump 2020 Campaign.:p

Edit; removed racist slur.

I sold my business on 2 Jan 2018. As such, my tax return will eliminate me from any "free" money even tho I am now on a fixed income. i really don't care as long as someone who REALLY needs it gets it. I need to have the wife check how much my SS payment was this month, I get them mid month , to see if the "rumored" $200 extra was there.

Thanks Darius. I really needed it. More than covered the drivers convenience group.

Did you actually receive something???
No expert on taxes. Did you file a 2019 tax return under $150k? If you did don't see why you wouldn't get a check.
Lost my $1000 local elderly property tax relief when I took money from my 401 k, Oh well.

GO HERE to get information about qualifications and lots of other information on the program.
If you click on "get my payment" you can even enter your or your spouse's SS# and check your specific status!
Mine didn't show anything, but I file jointly and I'm not going to worry just yet...

I have not filed 2019 yet. I gave all my stuff to my CPA in early March but I think he backed off prep once the deadline got extended. I don't expect to get anything really.

I got a partial. It goes by adjusted gross. (So I just gave away what I made taxable in 2019) But these days? Any wage is good news.

2018 should be fine, but I don't know for sure.

The bank appreciated ours. Helped kick the can another month down the road with them...

....still waiting. IRS sure knows how to find me at tax time, but gets lost in the woods on any outbound communications. Based on the AGI and our kids we are looking at $3400, but hardly anyone I know around here has gotten it yet.

Scrap yards are closed here... I have been driving by stuff laying all over water heaters, Washing Machines and other scrap metal. NO sense in picking up if it's not worth anything. Now A-holes are dropping stuff like washers and refrigerators in the Game lands parking lots... Slobs.

I did via direct deposit. I added it to my tax refund to pay off the house early.

P.S. I'm retired but would rather be in the higher income bracket that does not qualify.
