Hi all! Putting together my buddy's 68 Charger R/T and am in search of some good windshield header clips that go at the top of the windshield that the panel screws into. I've gotten some from MEGA Parts but they are absolutely horrible. You go to pinch them open to secure them and the tabs snap immediately as soon as you begin to pinch them open. Anyone know of any good re-pops or have some good used or (if I'm lucky) NOS ones? Thanks!

All the reproduction ones come from the same place and are absolute garbage.

Do you need all 5? I know I have some originals lying around somewhere. I'll start looking.

I hope the various vendors stop selling these clips soon. This is a known issue for some time now. I went through the same problem and posted about it 6 months or more ago. I ended up re-working some original clips and reusing them. Good luck with your search. Someone should be able to help.

These were the RT clips.

In reading this thread, I get the impression that most of the repop clips on market are Junk? I do have all or most of originals that came off my 69 Coronet, but bought new stuff from RT Specialties. I am beginning to think I should be cleaning u the old stuff to reuse it rather than try the new ones. Any recommendations or further experiences from you experts would be appreciated BEFORE I get the windows installed. Mocajava

Yep. MEGA Parts sells the same ones. Exact same thing happened to me.

When I bought my 69 Coronet a big box of parts was given to me that had been already stripped from the car. I pulled the front and rear window among all the other stuff in 2015, bagged and tagged the parts. Fast forward 5 years and I am putting everything back on and now addressing the new windows I purchased. At the bottom of the box I was given initially was a bag full of clips all thrown together. These clips look new/ unused and I wonder if these were bought to put the windshield and rear glass in? I saved all the clips when I pulled the windows and they are all obviously used with tar like residue and gunk from being on the car. The first picture is the old ones, the second is the new colored ones. Take a look and let me know what you gents think. I had already purchased new clips from RT but if these in the picture #2 are OEM quality, I will be using the new/colored ones. There are several different configurations and shapes which have me a little confused as to where each shape goes....wish I had some type of template to go by. I appreciate any insight you can offer and thanks for the help. Mocajava

Unfortunately these aren't the clips I'm looking for. Its the ones that attatch the interior header panel for the headliner. Those are the exterior trim clips. And thanks for going off topic. lol

I realized I was "off topic" after I reread but had already posted. I started a new thread trying to get an education from you experts. Sorry!

If anyone has some good used or NOS I'm interested

I have gathered up 5 original clips, looking for the 6th clip. Also I have to confirm that I have my clips (a separate group) in place for my '68 Charger. I know I have my group, just got to put hand on them. I've made that mistake before, selling off a part(s) then realizing that I needed them lol. I'll keep you posted. If another opportunity arises before I get back to you, please take them up on it.

Thanks

I got them If you still need them
