Mystery regarding side stripes on the 74...

he gets them from phoenix graphics.

It seems they bgot them reduced the price once again? when these stripeswere released the price was $399... then got them lowered to $299.... now $199 ?

this is one more example on what really is a "profit" on the resto world. If they can sell them in $199 it means the $399 initial price release was more than just profit

Both pics from 1980.....

I had a NOS door stripe for the V6K code... and is really dark... but sun makes its job allong the years

Mine was a 318 car with factory air. I believe that the OEM tires were bia ply white walls with full wheel coverings but I don't have any old pics of what I had on mine. I did used to run the Crager mags in the summer and then switch over to steel wheels with snow tires on the rear for the winter months. {This was before radial tires became popular}.

One reason my parents allowed me to buy the Charger at 17 years old was that it was a small block V8. I was originally looking at a 69 Road Runner with a 440 in it and my dad said a firm 'no' to that car. lol

And I gave this one to my 18-yo son, and trying to convince him we should return it to factory slant-six (for correctness of course haha)

That's basically our car, but ours came with a Slant 6 and i don't know what wheels

sure! with the M07 opera window diff ( if was added or not ) and engine, I think all Spring Specials are exactly the same car. Just like Toppers X were on 72

Where could I find build numbers for ours with these options? Can't be a whole lot with the Slant?

I agree with you, but to my knowledge the detailed build records like that don't exist.

There is not a sales breakdown since 72 like on earliers. The breakdown available is mostly related to Hardtop, SE or coupe, and engines with transmission. Spring Special will enter on the Hardtop breakdown, but the package not

codes application changes with years. If the decoder application didn't considered the model year, the code decoding can be whichever it translates to.

try to get the buildsheet. It must be still down the bench ( between spring and foam )... rear or front... or even bench backs
