Mystery regarding side stripes on the 74...

codes application changes with years. If the decoder application didn't considered the model year, the code decoding can be whichever it translates to.

try to get the buildsheet. It must be still down the bench ( between spring and foam )... rear or front... or even bench backs
I will look! haven't had the front bench out yet to look, but yes the back seat, and no sheet.

Take a look at this fender tag and corresponding factory invoice from a similar charger. I think it helps you with your W1LL code....

Build sheets have also been found under the carpet and tucked behind the glove box area too.

Also, if you look at the fender tag and invoice at the V6K code, the invoice reads this as a 'GRADATED TAPE STRIPE. I'm thinking someone made a typo when the invoice was prepared and it should have read 'GRADUATED TAPE STRIPE' instead. The invoice and fender tag are for this car when it was posted for sale awhile back here in the states.

well English is not my mother language ( you can tell it, sometimes I don't explain myself very well ) but on this just can tell what I read LOL

Your English is just fine and I appreciate the information you're sharing here today. Thank you! Gracias!

Well, good news/bad news. the kid found the build sheet under the passenger seat - but the mice liked the taste and therefore it's unreadable. Boohoo. Any chance there's a second one in these old rigs??

That is a shame, but believe it or not I've seen guys tape sheets back together from smaller pieces. Takes time and patience.... lol

Seeing your front seat on the ground there brings back memories. I had forgotten that the backside of the front seats had carpet on them.... lol

Here's the seat, for whoever wanted to see the style. Burlap sack is what I call it. :) "durango" per the factory I believe.

I don't think mice, but just the time and ppl getting in and out

Galien Grover could help maybe ? paying a "small fee" I guess

That was me who asking about the interior pics of your car. Thanks! Seeing that brings back memories....

Btw Mr. 74Slant..... In your very first post you believed that someone had applied a decal over the factory original stripe. Do you see now that what you have there is all factory original? I had that same 'Charger' script and black tape in my stripe too but it's tough to see given the age of my photo and the color of the stripe. It shows up much better in this cars stripe....

I don't know... I can peel off the top layer, but then the bottom layer is like a whole other sticker... it's definitely distinct.

Could be that it was layered when new, and that something [like a clear coat or a polyurethane that you'd put on wood] was used by the tape manufacturer [3M?] to seal it all together? I'm sure stripes were made differently in the 70's then they way they are made these days.

Another possibility is that the PO tried to repair the original stripe?
