Where all V8 options from 273 and up "Commando V8" and labeled as such on the fender trim. 65 Belvedere II btw. Thanks.

I think those emblems are for a 64 not a 65. The place under the engine call out number was solid on a 65, not opened.

That would be correct.

Commando 273 (Plymouth) and Charger 273 (Dodge) were available in Valiant/Barracuda, and Dart respectively. None of those engines were available in B bodies.

Also the 63 Plymouth with the 361 eng had fender emblems that said "361 Commando" and my 63 Sport Fury that is an original 383 car has fender emblems that say "Golden Commando". Ron

361, 383 & 426 were all labeled "Commando" by the division in 64.

I don't remember seeing any outside emblems on the 64 cars saying a Commando eng ? Course that don't mean they did not call them Commando engines ? But if you know Mopars and see a 63 with the "Golden Commando" emblem on the fender then you know its an original 383 car. Ron

Not true.
The 273 was the base engine. 318 was an option.
I knew a guy with a 65 273 Satty.

Anyone know measurements or diagram for location of Commando V8 emblems on the front fenders of a 1965 Belvedere? Thanks

I didn't say the 273 wasn't available in a 65 Satellite. It was the base V8 but a 2 barrel only. The 273 Commando wasn't available in the Satellite. Just the 2 barrel engine.
Simple semantics. The Commando 273 (Plymouth) and Charger 273 (Dodge) were 4 barrel/dual point/hotter cam/10.5-1 compression/wrinkle finish valve covers/chrome air cleaner engines with 235 horse. I just looked through the 65 Satellite factory spec book and there was no Commando 273's available. Same with the Galen option code book. Commando in A bodies only.

273-2 and 318 were not "Commando" engines.

I had to take some pics then had screwed up the attaching of them......hope these attach. Jeff
