66/67 Belvedere, Satellite, GTX Quarter Panel Survey

In 2014 at Las Vegas at the MATS, I asked AMD if they would be doing 66-67 quarters. Answer was ( probably not in your lifetime).
If I really wanted a do it yourself kit, I could switch manufacturers. NO CHANCE!

I contacted AMD today to suggest the need for quality quarter panels for 66/67 Belv/Sat and GTX's. I told them that there is a need for quarter panels due to the high incidence of rust in the forward section of the quarter panel at the rear wheel well. I told them, that many owners of these cars have discussed the need on FBBO.

The representative from AMD said there is just not enough need of these quarter panels to justify the manufacture of a new product. He went on to say maybe 5-10 guys need these panel or maybe even 15-20 and that amount doesn't justify a need.

I may be biased but I think there are many more of these b-body owners that need new quarters, I'd like to get a response from those of you who need these quarters, maybe Joey could attach this to an on going poll that could eventually be forwarded to AMD and maybe change their minds and attitude toward 66/67 b-bodies.

I have a 1966 Belvedere 2 I would need both front quarters mine are dented in I think would cost to much to make right. Does any body know if a 66 Valiant would work for a 66? Thanks

I can't see how a 66 Valiant would work at all.

"Front quarters"?

You mean "fenders", or the front section of the rear quarter panel?

Pics would sure help.

...and no a Valiant is nowhere near the same.

66 and 67 Plymouth only B body only.

I had to contact AMD regarding a few of their products. On 4/23/20, this was their response regarding 67 GTX quarters:

"Those quarter panels are in development now. We just got our first prototypes in about 3 weeks ago and need to make some tweaks. We’re expecting to have these in stock toward the end of the year, but that just depends on how many times we have to go back and forth with the prototyping. Give us a shout around September/October and we’ll have a more accurate ETA by then."

hopefully they nail the prototype sooner than later... im waiting for these... did they mention outer wheel houses and trunk extensions?

I saw your car posted on Facebook, looks great. Probably the route I will take too! What did you do for outer wheel wells and truck extensions?
We brought 68 extensions he's going to modify them and repaired my wheel houses

I've needed them many times over the years. Like now.....but make due with a patch or two....

I have emailed AMD and gotten no reply. I spoke with Joe Phillips and ordered a set from him.
At least we now have an alternative to waiting. I have yet to see in person my friends 66 Coronet 500, but he is praising Joe for the piece he got from him.

Just got an email notification that Outer Wheel houses are now available. AMD web site says left hand side and right hand side are both in stock. Maybe full quarters will be a reality after all. I hope so. My car is a non-original rust bucket. It's not worth the expense of high quality hand-formed replacement pieces.
