It's longer than a four barrel coil wire because the Six Pack coil is mounted near the rear of the manifold.

You would think Firecore would at least attempt to use angled boots to resemble OE... Straight boots might fit but they look like crap....

i got a hold of firecore and they put together a set that copies the original wires with the correct ends. also they are numbered.

but do they have a set with the longer coil wire?

I remember reading somewhere that the old points ignition 170/225 coil wire was long and would work?? Can anyone confirm this??

The Firecore OE replacement wires for 6bbl cars now have 2 coil wires, the longer one for 6bbl and the shorter one for 4 bbl.

For anyone running points ignition and you purchase Lectric Limited date coded 383/440 wires, the spark plug wires come with both a short and long coil wire. I called them today to inquire about getting a longer date coded coil wire and was informed of this. Went home at lunch and sure enough there are 2 coil wires in bag.
