Aluminum direct fit radiator

I think those might be a different radiator I was surprised they’re saying it won’t fit, I had a ECP/speedcooling one before the champion and had to open up the bolt holes a little bit other than that it fit fine and worked perfect. This champion should be for this car but doesn’t fit, anyone else experience this?
This is an ECP 26”. My core support is in rough shape so I had to work on some holes. I’ve never used the Champion unit.

Heads up you guys with an aluminum radiator I just spoke to my radiator shop and they told me "electrolysis" is a real problem. You need to make sure the car is grounded wise otherwise if there is a stray voltage of .05 in the body it can eat the aluminum.

I must have got a different radiator. You are the second forum member to say fit without mods.
I had to grind in three places, file the mounting holes, and barely had enough meat to mount the shroud.

That's what I had to do as well...

Any other grounding in addition to the standard grounding of battery to block, battery to chassis and engine to chassis?

I added ground straps from the heads to the firewall. Also grounds from the battery to the fender well to block.

Generally electrolysis is only an issue after minerals build up into a electrolyte; in other words old coolant is the start of electrolysis action.

If you remember back in the 1980s, many coolant manufacturers started touting "ALU_GUARD 360", or "Alum-a-guard 360". This was a additive that was supposed to reduce the chance of electrolysis in newer cars of the day with Aluminum radiators and cast iron blocks, etc.

Fresh coolant every two years, or so and you will have no issues with electrolysis.

I had mine custom made and it bolted right in. Dual Spal fans and -20 AN bungs for hose end fittings.
